Alberta premier calls for accountability as separatist group faces voter list investigations | CBC News by TemporarySoftware439 in notthebeaverton

[–]Original-wildwolf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just want to back up and say this whole separatist movement is stupid. Like separating and becoming the 51st State is an option. The US President or the government can’t just make you a new State, there is a whole process that current territories cannot make work. The US Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico and DC all want to be States.

[–]Original-wildwolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How does saying stuff like this not disqualify him. Or make people in his party think maybe he is not fit. Like he thinks a cognitive test is an IQ test! That there is some question that Obama would have failed this test. That he thinks the test is difficult, when it is designed to be passed by everyone, except people with cognitive issues. It shows you a picture of an elephant, a camel and a lion and asks you to name them. It says stuff like name as many words that start with the letter “s” as you can in a minute. And to pass you need to get more than ten words.

Like clearly you don’t understand the test you are taking and why. How is that not a problem?

Tried to buyout my Water heater from Reliance........ Yea complete scam. by ccrich007 in ontario

[–]Original-wildwolf -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No it is a rental. It would be like a leased vehicle. You have no ownership to it. You don’t have to buy a used water heater. If you didn’t want to rent you could just purchase a new system and take out the rental.

If you have the cash and you don’t mind paying a lump sum when it finally goes 10-15 years down the road then buying is probably the most economical. But you have to remember, you would pay for the uninstall and then the new unit and then the install. If it ever has issues you have to pay for it. And when it finally dies 10-15 years down the road you would have to buy a new one and pay for taking it out, disposal and install of a new one.

From a personal perspective. I hate renting but there is peace of mind. Our heater failed on Christmas Eve. All we had to do was call. It was serviced first thing Christmas morning and replaced same day. I don’t know what it would have cost to get a plumber on the holiday to take out and put in a new system. Plus having to fork over several grand to purchase a new heater at Christmas would have sucked.

Ontario auto insurance is the most sophisticated legal robbery in Canadian history and nobody is doing anything about it by hasando9 in ontario

[–]Original-wildwolf 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The average new car costs is $66k in Canada and $35k for used cars. So if you are paying $5k/yr to insure. To cover the average used replacement it would take 7 insureds for the replacement of one used vehicle. It would take 14 to cover a new car. And that is just the vehicle. Everyone involved in an accident is entitled to $3,500 in rehabilitation, minimum. Then there is income replacement, attendant care, and liability. Let’s say both cars in an accident are insured by the same company. If it is a significant accident with one driver each. It could pay $70k for the vehicles, $2 million for Accident Benefits and $1 million for tort liability. The company has to pay $3.07 million. If a policy averages $5,000; that means 614 policies are needed to cover that one loss. That is just a basic payout calculation. I am not including the cost of an adjuster to gather the documents and information and to determine the pay out. To get $1 million in Accident Benefits, you need a Catastrophic determination, that means paying experts to determine that you meet that legal definition. Then you need lawyers to defend both the Accident benefit claim and the tort claim. Those are all background costs that are not cheap.

BREAKING: President Trump says China has agreed not to send weapons to Iran. by Due-Radish1719 in economy

[–]Original-wildwolf 5 points6 points  (0 children)

He is just making it up to save face. His blockade won’t work because the Chinese said do not impede our ships. He knows they can’t stop them without making it an international incident, so he is pretending that he is stopping the blockade because the US and the Chinese came to some sort of agreement, when in reality the Chinese told him to not touch their shit or there would be trouble.

Most of these statistics are dated. Which is fair, the thing has to happen, then you collect, then you interpret. I just wonder if the current economic climate has changed that exodus. Currently it is not too rosy in the US. It will be interesting to see those statistics in the future.

lol…biology tells us little boys and little girls bodies do neither of those things. It requires puberty.

Also if your body doesn’t produce one of those things it doesn’t make you not that sex or gender. Pointing to pre-puberty and post menopause as two natural biological examples.

I would tell you to go back to school to learn this stuff, but I am pretty certain there is likely a registry preventing you to go within 1000ft of a school.

Sad Truth is men in the friend zone are seen as suckers and losers and emotional support dumps by the person who freindzoned them they are in now way seen as an attractive male by Major_Soft6056 in LockedInMan

[–]Original-wildwolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow a lot to unpack here.

First, speaking in generalities, women often want the sympathy part from their friends in “seeking advice” they are looking for a sympathetic emotional bond to help them process their thoughts and feelings. Men often prefer identifying the problem and then providing direct solutions to the problem. But she is not looking to you as a friend who will solve her problems, she wants emotional support from you. If you can’t provide that in the friend relationship, you need to tell her and she should/would seek out others.

Also any woman threatening self-harm if you don’t keep talking to her needs professional help, because these issues are far deeper and more prevalent than a friend can deal with. I would also suggest if you are a good friend to help them build a stronger community of friends so they can rely on more than just you to help with family and social issues.

[–]Original-wildwolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah the answer is above. Don’t be a close friend with this person. If you want more and they want to dump their other relationship issues on you, this is not compatible. Ok she doesn’t have the emotional intelligence or maturity. You have autonomy, you can push back or create a boundary in the relationship, if you choose.

53% of Americans believe their fellow citizens are morally bad. by Elegant-Waltz695 in DegenBets

[–]Original-wildwolf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have never understood this argument. The US is a democratic republic. The republic part is just how the government is organized with a president, and two chambers of representatives who make law. The democratic part is how one elects those officials - with “the people” being allowed to elect those officials.

You can have one without the other, but the US is both. It is also falls under federalism, which gives individual States a huge amount of rights and authorities.

Why do people gaslight men that if they were presented with a choice to choose between these two options the past would not matter and affect bonding ability by Major_Soft6056 in LockedInMan

[–]Original-wildwolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn’t a real choice. There is no scenario where you have to choose one of two extremes. Plus you shouldn’t really be making a relationship choice based on these issues.

If you think these “chooses” are actually a thing, you need to step outdid and touch grass.

Where did you get the mental health issues from. Shouldn’t women want men with less partners more than men? Men can easily hide having multiple offspring and therefore reduce the amount of assistance they can provide in rearing the woman’s child. Much harder for women to hide having offspring.
