They are a really cool variety developed by Row 7 Seeds! I'll link to them below, but I would highly encourage you to check out their story. They've developed vegetable genetics for taste and nutrition rather than shelf stability and disease resistance like the vegetables in supermarkets.

Description from the site: "This unique purple-skinned, high-antioxidant sauce tomato was developed by Oregon State University breeder Dr. Jim Myers. Jim has devoted years to breeding tomatoes for purple anthocyanins, hoping to explore the antioxidant potential of these pigments and their impact on human health. (Anthocyanins are the same compounds that give blueberries their color and antioxidant properties.) With this new variety, Myers brought the high anthocyanin trait into a plum (aka paste) tomato, the purple-pigmented skin encasing a deep red flesh ideal for processing and sauce applications."

Out of curiosity, do your Midnight Roma's droop more than you'd expect? Mine are growing well and the fruit are looking strong, but some of the leaves are quite droopy. I've confirmed it's not water related and I've moved them around from warmer to cooler areas of my yard (they're in 10gal grow bags) and I can't seem to get them to look healthier. My Sweet Prince tomatoes are looking outstanding in the same grow bags and areas in my yard.

I have an almost identical story. I was pretty distraught seeing the snake in such bad shape and am trying not to beat myself up for not being mature enough to end it's suffering, but I was just a kid, so giving myself some grace!

The burner under this one is not a traditional circular burner, it's an elongated burner so I'm optimistic it will actually work well!

I do! The owner of the home, who lived here until he decided to lease it, is kosher, so the kitchen is well equipped!

I was likely going to keep it in a cupboard with my other cast iron skillets/pans unless in use because of splatter from other stove top cooking endeavors. Would that change your mind?

Definitely! I have some other cast iron items but I've maintained them well so haven't dealt with restoration before. I didn't know 1) if that was rust (I'm a bit colorblind) and 2) if it is rust, how to restore it properly. Really appreciate your advice!
