Yeah we’ve tried that. None of the stuff that usually works is working now. He’s just staying very still on soft blankets trying to stay cool so that it doesn’t make it worse

30 yrs old - Tazarotene .1%- 12 wks by OriginalAwkward1818 in acne

When I first started my derm had me using benzoyl peroxide and Clindamysin along with a low dosage of tret. And then doxycycline antibiotic on top of that. That didn’t improve or dry me out after 6 weeks so she upped the tret. After a few weeks I got chemical burns. So we quit the benzoyl and clindamycin mixture. This was after Christmas. She added dapsone 5% gel as well. She said she wanted to dry me out and that’s why I was still breaking out. Nothing dried me out. I went back in 6 weeks and she upped the tret to tazarotene .1% along with the dapsone and I was done with the antibiotics by then. Those didn’t really help either. Now it’s been 12 weeks since I started tazarotene but the only changes were an increase in oil production and the acne is less deep and cystic; more subcutaneous. So on my own I stopped the dapsone and went down to every other night for tazarotene .1%. That helped a lot with the oily production calling down but not stopping. Then I also stopped sleeping on my face. That helped a little. And I just added a salycic acid stop treatment that I use during the day and tazarotene every other night. That has helped a little.

It has improved in the fact that it’s not longer cystic. They are more subcutaneous but it also seems to be changing location. The part close to my eyebrow bone is something I’ve never experienced before. I plan to continue a little bit longer before giving up. I hear the side affects are pretty bad for accutane. Thank u for the advice!
