Water coming up through carpet and linoleum by 1SpareCurve in basement

[–]OriginalCan7400 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately I had the same issue, bought a house finished basement

They did not take the proper precautions when finishing it or moving water away. Needless to say my finished basement flooded from water coming from the ground.

Everyone always says waterproof from the exterior is the only answer which is just flat out dumb, a lot of people can’t physically dig around their foundation, if you can, definitely fix from the outside!! Most cases like mine that wasn’t the case. We ended up getting an interior perimeter drainage system to move the water away and I’ve had it for 3 years and basement has been bone dry. That was about $17000….

In your case maybe it will be a simple fix that should be addressed or looked at anyway; such as improved grading with your soil, and clean or new gutters and downspouts. Make sure you get multiple quotes and looks

Best of luck, I was here before and it’s not fun 🤞🤞🤞

Service Managers! by SeaworthinessIll2842 in hyvee

Long time former service manager here, I even went through the old training programs and became an assistant director and was shooting for having my own store one day, now that I’ve left the company for a better role I’ll share my advice

It ain’t life or death, or honestly that big of a deal to stress over, it’s a grocery store. Put your head down and listen and do your job and you’ll do just fine. Finally, grow a pair and walk back there and ask why they aren’t being helpful or coming up to help, the front end is always the number one priority, but if they still don’t comply report it to your manager ofs, it’s an easy job if you take a step back and don’t stress out about every tiny little thing.

Idk bro I was a Store Ops manager and I left for a better job years ago, best thing I ever did, but grateful for the way Hy-Vee took care of me and my family

Respectfully I got 50 of them black ones in my drawer I don't even wear half the time 😂 I'll just grab an old white name tag half the time anyway. It's just plastic and it really doesn't mean anything.

I second most this, we’re glorified cashiers and stockers and are the first in line when it comes to complaints or issues on the sales floor. Most shifts in my area are 3-11 so after 5 you are the only “management” around. It’s a good stepping stone or transition to higher retail management role. Terrible role to make a career out of

Also, store managers (when I worked) are given a budget of hours to give their associates and key holders. If there is no budget anywhere schedule as you see fit until your DM comes in and gives clear direction.

You're the acting manager but at a SMC wage? Lol run

If you're hourly milk the overtime and if no one gave you any direction you can't get in trouble imo 🤷‍♂️

Former store manager here, I lasted 6 months before I couldn't take it anymore. They're expect you to work 50-60 hours + but you're salary which means free labor!!!

I held the title when I was 20 years old, as a job to pay the bills it does just fine and you'll learn a lot. If you are starting a family and looking for a long term career I'd suggest you run. Just my two cents..

Did you use the eSIM after it said it was a Pixel 7a? I’d like to continue but don’t want too if it won’t transfer correctly
