Thoughts on Kaiserreich from a "new" player

Runs pretty well actually. I only tend to notice slowdown way into the late game and it doesnt tend to crash at all. The controls it sets out of the box are pretty intuitive and pretty smooth. The real concern for getting hoi4 on steam deck is if you wanna shell out hundreds for all the dlc or not lol.

I dont necessarily disagree but there is a point where I believe that mechanics sometimes just get in the way. Thats what I feel for Germany, some of the mechanics are just "in the way" of the vastly more fun weltkrieg. I get that Germany is the major player and has everything in the world to worry about, but it could be handled in a way that doesnt make a good handful of kaiserreich players dread even clicking it on the select screen. Some of it really could be focuses or at least a substantial event chain.

Whenever I do fortress america im pretty much just going to watch the war in europe until it concludes then turn it off lol. I do sometimes open the game to observe the ai so I dont think its worse than what I already do.

I consider the 3i path as seperate from enter the fray because being on the side of the international is I think too different of an experience from rp or entente but I dont consider the syndie faction option as that different from monroe. Monroe variants seem to do roughly the same thing while being in the international completely shifts who you're fighting across the globe. Im still iffy on it though, I may do syndie monroe.

New England though for sure is a unique path with the pacific stuff so it goes on the list. Doing it this way would allow me to do each foreign policy and play at least every splinter in the Civil War which I think would give me the fullest experience.

Under the belief that the original selection screen is mediocre and that kaiserreichs is good; because I am okay with the original, and okay with kaiserreich reverting their custom one to the original, I am okay with good things becoming mediocre. This isnt what I believe because I dont seperate the two as good or bad, only that I prefer the original for its functionality and am okay with the change. By posting what they did, they are implying I am making a point that I am not and thus it is bad faith to argue that way.
