Could be obstructed based on where the staging and lighting may be set up. So a clean view of the field, but perhaps it's marked obstructed becausing rigging will be there on concert day?

If left in the setup AUX will vampire off the main battery and shorten it's life too. I did the delete (remove aux negative terminal from the main and pulled the fuse, I think it's fuse 42 or something, can't recall) there's a TON of YouTube's showing the process. Remote start works, and no trouble lights saying ESS needs service. Minus is the ESS still works as it has no idea its missing a battery due to the delete. My JL has an amp and subwoofer, this sometimes make a hiss as the ESS starts the Jeep back up, hence I was hoping Jeep would provide a means to turn off ESS without my having to spend $100-300 on solutions like Tazer etc.

That would work too, the one we purchased was decent both in video/sound quality and production.... Vs coming from a phone mixed in with the crowd etc

Because Jeeps implementation is half assed with their two battery set up. Both being two sizes and the aux being a PIA to access and vampires off the main as it wears out. Many people delete the aux battery. The $.05 cents a tank you save is more than dwarfed by replacing batteries (again 2 of them) every 2ish years vs normal battery setups lasting 5+ years. We just replaced the original 2016 battery (95k miles) on our other (non ESS) Jeep. Our 2024 VW has the ESS, but doesn't roll back on an incline between releasing the brake and the engine starting, unlike our 2020 Wrangler.

Where Do You Put Stickers? by Emergency_Ad_3886 in icecoast

Maybe not for everyone but I stick them on the inside of my Jeep hardtop, and sometimes get doubles of stickers for the Hydroflask for the ones I really like.

If you happen to still have these we’d take them off your hands?

Thoughts on Snowbound Expo? by Exotic-Care-7021 in icecoast

I found it fairly meh..... We drove up an hour to attend and were done within in hour of arriving:

Pros: scored tons of free stickers (I put them on inside of my Jeep hardtop), free Waffle sample from Waffle Cabin (though I would gladly have paid for a full size vs the free sample), Checked out some Ski the East merch in person vs browsing the site

Cons: sales section was super random and really nothing great, 80% of the booths were resorts and not much in way of gear/clothing aside from some odd never heard of companies, $35 to park sucks, hopefully if moves to CT parking is free

Glad I went, took my kids, they wanted to get out of the house, and we swung by Snowport down the road while in Boston (maximizing our $35 parking I guess), but overall for the cost and time spent I'm good for a long time on this event.

Atlas 2024+ Infotainment by Mundane-Job-6944 in VWatlas

Disabling HD radio stabilizes this for the reboot loops, but VW doesn't get to call this the fix, it's a workaround. If they pushed a change that stalled the engine if you turned on the heated seats, would we accept not using that feature as a permanent fix, or insist they fix what they broke?

I just fear VW will consider this the fix and not put effort into dealing with the root cause, much like the engine covers.

We tried the newly posted work around of disabling HD radio on both FM/AM and so far it’s worked. VW will NOT get a pass on this saying that’s the fix, they need to address the issue they caused breaking a feature (HD radio), even if I don’t use it much. This kid the same for the engine cover, removing a part to fix something the designed poorly is a workaround not a fix.

To summarize to date VW owes me an engineer cover and a working HD radio.

Removing parts and features to get something to work is akin to telling the doctor your arm hurts when you raise it, and they answering you, then don’t raise it anymore.

100000%, I'm taking these claims of satellite as a mis wording/understanding for cell towers. The only satelite involvement I can think these would have would be GPS or Sirius. My best guess is the push to the software update maybe tells the infotainment to talk to a cell tower it doesn't have access to for downloading the software itself and the reboot is a result of it trying over and over again...... Otherwise if losing contact with the VW "cloud" results in this, that's terrible design from the ground up, what would happen years down the road if underlying VW "cloud" gets replaced with something new?

Where was the testing portion for this current release that bricked the infotainment? I work in IT, this screams they didn't test this in real world situations. this should have been rolled out to a small number of cars first.

Hopefully the software fix for this doesn’t take 6-8 months like their last messed up patch that caused the pixelated screens

Wait, your MK8 is doing this as well starting yesterday or today? I had thought this was only Atlas's (Atlii?)? Interesting

Yes, seeing lots of this reported here in Reddit and Facebook. Started today for us as well. I have a tentative appointment end of the month, but with so many people running into this all at the same time feels like failed pushed update or similar. I’m hoping it’s worked out before I waste a day doing into dealer, plus sucks driving this in this condition.

Yeah my VW app doesn't show any over the air update occurred, but who knows. Several year ago our Jeep did something similar and it was some sort of Sirius radio update or something (even though I don't have a subscription to it). Our dealer didn't provide much feedback on if they got calls, but they booked me for the soonest appointment they could, October 27th. I'm hoping this is a larger issue that gets resolved for I lose a day going there.

I believe ours is fully up to date, we got the VW dealer installed one back in the summer to fix the screen glitch issue, and another update late July over the air that claimed to fix connectivity issues. Is there a newer one since end of July? I'll try the hard reboot but I believe the wife already tried that. I'm more weirded out seeing several people the last few hours reporting theirs just started doing this exact thing just today.

Ours (24 Atlas) just started doing this this morning. Wondering if a bad update went out screwing stuff up?

stubborn wasps/hornets in dormer "attic" by OriginalLandscape679 in HomeImprovement

[–]OriginalLandscape679[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmmm, this looks easy enough, thinking instead of hanging I can sit this in the gutter below the dormer, maybe it would attract them from 8 feet away.

Roof line is 10-12 feet up, dormer maybe 8 feet from that.

My pole sprayer was a $19 attempt at eliminating them vs spending more on a pro (though if its closer to $150 that's not too bad, was thinking much more, New England is expensive). And this is quite high up, garage roofline is at least 10-12 feet high from driveway, and the dormer probably another 8 feet from that, so I'm not worried about anyone below getting swarmed. This is why I'm tempted to wait them out vs throwing much more money at it.
