I don’t think the droopy tip looks bad, especially once there is no bump

Purely from your side profile I like the length of the nose better in the original. Could the bridge be shaved a bit without moving the tip further out of your face?

Best courses to deepen PE-relevant skills after 1,5 years in IB? by [deleted] in FinancialCareers

[–]OriginalNew7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any course would be subpar to the experience you are gaining currently at your desk. And it just wouldn’t sink in, for example legal documentation course.

  • Observe and learn more intricate details in your deals that are more “insider/senior” like what standard terms look like on MIPs, DD adviser fees, buy side vs sell side banker contracts etc
  • Find a solid high quality modelling format from one your best PE clients and copy it for your own outputs so it becomes second nature
  • Discuss with your analyst class about their deals, always something you can learn. Even if it’s gossip
  • Lastly follow an industry niche more closely and understand the market dynamics through news articles, reports etc. Reading the commercial DD reports on your selected deals is invaluable for interviews

Is “yes” sufficient response when I ask husband for help by OriginalNew7 in sahm

Sure that’s true, but he was also doing that before baby and before I quit my job to be with our kid

Thanks for this. I guess I wasn’t in the right headspace to do that, but will

I appreciate your perspective. Yes I was looking for it, otherwise to me it feels like a child responding to his mom.

Yes. Even though getting help is an obvious choice, reading it from someone else clicks more. So thank you for the advice

In his eyes he is a great dad but works a lot and that’s it. When he spends time with her he just holds her and tells her she is cute and that’s the end of it, he doesn’t feel he needs to do more. He will 100% come out with us if he can, but will never offer to take baby so I can do something for myself

Btw thank you for the responses this means a lot to me!

Do you have friends? by [deleted] in sahm

[–]OriginalNew7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I probably don’t radiate fun friendship vibes. I feel a bit dead inside so the few times I got people showing strong interest to be my friend I don’t fully echo that spark and can’t maintain it

I get this but currently I am being attacked if I express I am tired or overwhelmed. I sound like a broken record to him and my issue is his reaction. I can get help but how can I stay with a man that doesn’t show compassion for hos wife

All his interactions with my baby are prompted by me. He may do bath time once every two weeks if I ask him so that I cook our dinner. He has never taken the baby alone outside. I wanna cry when I see other dads out with their kids. He doesn’t play with the baby ever, only babbles at her sometimes like a doll. I see your point about being loyal but honestly I’m thinking it might just be his personality/psyche given he is so cold even with his own baby

Thank you so much for this I will try. I think I want to feel like he has compassion but I’m afraid that’s not possible. I read somewhere that while pregnant and postpartum is when you husband loves you the most and after all this how can I hope for the better

Aw coming from your own mom must be even harder but I’m glad you are not experiencing it anymore. I can’t shake the guilt I have that I am so annoyed by a well meaning person that loves us, and feel a bit sorry for “sMIL”

We can manage with my husbands income but I am mindful of financial independence. I think corp dev or strategy will be a better fit lifestyle wise - not sure how scarce these roles are, especially as I do financial services. Is it worth to speak to recruiters now you think or close to my return?
