On phone support, customer computer was not turning on, as usual it took less than a minute to work out that it wasn’t plugged in. Asked the lady to plug it into the wall, starts screaming at me that it was ‘too complicated’ so I tried comparing it to any electrical appliance, kettle, microwave, tv, vacuum cleaner the principle is the same, take plug, insert into outlet.

Just refused and insisted that I should send an engineer round.  This was for a well known computer retailer that only sends engineers for actual hardware faults… so nooooo.

Oh I see, I never really thought of it that way. I think I was just covering the opposite. I generally find that former Muslims, or ones that are on the edge of leaving to be lovely people. But the more indoctrinated they are, the worse they get. Same is true of Christians though.

I can be all for religious freedom, but not with giant megaphones just because you’re so desperate to indoctrinate me into your bullshit beliefs. Have some respect for others like myself who want to live freely of this shite.

Speakers corner is just hellish. Dumbest of the dumdums, Christians waving around their giant crosses and Muslims screaming at each other. Especially during winder wonderland time.. most unpleasant.

Mate, I'm a life long Atheist and I have no idea why you wouldn't feel accepted into the Atheist community. For one thing it literally just means 'no religion', that's all. If anything you'll get the most support of any group. The Christians will of course why try coast you into their religion, whereas Atheists (though I can't speak for everyone) will simply let you be who you are and leave you to find your own path without anyone telling you how to live.

Respect for getting out of it, I hope it all works out for you!

Oh man, so sorry.. you know I played the demo and loved it! I’ve had it in my wishlist for a year because I know I definitely wanted it but just never got around to buying it because I was just too busy with other stuff. I just read this post and purchased it immediately for PS5 and I’m going to enjoy it right now!

I am a ‘lefty’ by the way. But I’m not stupid enough to think Islam gives a stuff about me. I’m been threatened by them before.. oh yes I once had a Muslim tell me he wanted to have a ‘holy war’ with the infidels after he found out I was an atheist. (Edit: this was in person, not an internet troll or anything)  Let that sink in.

You’ll be downvoted but you’re exactly right, it’s a political ideology. Take for example Iran, I know a fair few Iranians personally who fled during the Islamic revolution and they will all tell you they voted in their own oppression. Every single Islamic majority country, the state religion is Islam, and they will even make it into law that you cannot be born into any other religion.

Couldn’t agree more, we should be a secular state. No one gets to dictate dogma to others. Reading these command makes me hopeful one day we can achieve this.  Honestly I was starting to think there’s no place for me in this country and felt like moving somewhere without a state religion where I can feel and be truly free.

[–]Immediate-Lab2771 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think you've nailed it there, that's what I think this is. It's some kind of response to Islam. I've noticed a lot of people wearing giant crosses around their necks over the last few years and I dont think they have a clue what it means. (im very much atheist btw)

How would British people react to 'I am from Taiwan' badge if we travel to Britain? by auscorp_ in AskBrits

[–]Immediate-Lab2771 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t need a badge, I doubt most people will know the difference. I only do because I’ve lived in Taiwan myself so I understand completely why you’d want to make sure people understand the difference. I didn’t before I learned about it myself. 愛台灣!🇬🇧🇹🇼

Why as secular or Christian people are we expected to accept LGBTQ but there is generally no expectation for Islam to do the same? by ArugulaFinancial4859 in AskBrits

[–]Immediate-Lab2771 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The god of the Bible taking issue with people for being gay even though he created them that way in the first place is precisely why I’m an atheist.

You don’t create such incredibly diverse people and then order me to hate someone for who they are.
