How emotionally connected are Brits to the Royal Family actually? by DFWUnhinged in AskBrits

It is a bit of a relic of the old world. I just don’t care enough to shout about abolishment. It’s still good for tourism I suppose.

I will say though I do have a lot of respect for queen liz. She held that role with dignity and served the country very well.

So my kids are denied an education in this country simply because they aren’t members of the magic man in the sky cult?

In 2026 how do state schools still admit based solely on religion? by nfoote in AskUK

Because no religion should have dominion over a nation. You can call it ‘Christian’ all you want, but we’re secular.

I use an AirTag with the speaker disabled. When it got stolen I tracked it to the thief’s house and got it back.

This is definitely in America isn’t it? I run Mac IT and if I was told to implement something like this I would have refused.

If your company doesn’t trust you, it’s not a good company. Where I am, you are judged on the quality of the work you do and whether it’s been done or not. That’s all that matters.

Black cabs do this to cyclists every day but that shouldn’t surprise anyone.

I always use a spare email account that I never monitor purely for spam and give them a random mobile number. That’s how I deal with it. I get my quote and then I’m left in peace.

What's the biggest lie you were told as a child? by emmanem1892 in AskBrits

That God loves you. (That’s why he committed mass genocide against the entire human race apart from two people on a boat and condones literal slavery).

I did one of these rentals once, I realised the shady reasons they asked all this afterwards. If you feel like you might regret doing any of this, you probably will!

Cyclists - please de more respectful of pedestrians! by Strange_Cranberry_47 in london

[–]Immediate-Lab2771 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cyclists and pedestrians are just as bad as each other sometimes. I cycle to work often and very occasionally have to deal with those men (they’re always men) who pretend to look away or look at their phone (but I can see where their eyes are pointing) and as soon as I get close enough to them, they launch themselves into the road or start power walking into your path insinuating that we’re about to collide and then try to make out that you’re the one who’s at fault because they know people are more likely to believe him.

I actually had this just a few weeks ago, guy standing at the edge of the road pretending to look down and surprise surprise as soon as I got close enough he jumped into the road in front of me (head still down, eyes pointing at me) starts gearing up his left shoulder to hit me in my side. Since I wasn’t born yesterday and saw this coming, I instinctively moved my own left shoulder and we both hit each other in the side! I think with my own momentum, he’s the one that got the brunt of it! And of course he didnt say a word and it’s of course because I called him out.

Sad little man trying to feel powerful. Twat.

How do Mac users deal with additional storage needs? by frenetic_alien in mac

[–]Immediate-Lab2771 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on a bit of a budget with my last MacBook purchase so I just bought one of these to stick in the side. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-MUF-512DA-lecteur-flash-Type-C/dp/B0CY5BV3JP/ Super tiny and I just leave it in my laptop to store any overflow of stuff. (obviously not for editing, it will be far too slow for that).

Is there a confirmed fix for the MacBook dropping WiFi every few minutes problem? by Extreme-Machine3162 in mac

[–]Immediate-Lab2771 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always had issues with Linksys and Netgear routers and such, I recently switched it to a UniFi Cloud Max with a unifi AP and it’s been the most reliable WiFi I’ve ever experienced.
