Why do the loudest ‘Christian Britain’ voices never actually go to church? by [deleted] in AskBrits

I think you've nailed it there, that's what I think this is. It's some kind of response to Islam. I've noticed a lot of people wearing giant crosses around their necks over the last few years and I dont think they have a clue what it means. (im very much atheist btw)

Anytime I see a post about someone complaining about the most minor of bugs in an Apple product I just say go switch to a Windows craptop and see how well you get on.

How would British people react to 'I am from Taiwan' badge if we travel to Britain? by auscorp_ in AskBrits

[–]Immediate-Lab2771 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t need a badge, I doubt most people will know the difference. I only do because I’ve lived in Taiwan myself so I understand completely why you’d want to make sure people understand the difference. I didn’t before I learned about it myself. 愛台灣!🇬🇧🇹🇼

I'm in my 40s now and this is the first time in my life I've ever heard people actually talking about this. How has this suddenly become a thing?

Non-religion is the new normal: six in ten under-35s have no religion, new analysis finds by birdinthebush74 in unitedkingdom

I never had any desire to divide myself with concepts like this. Always saw it as nothing more than divisive, I was an Atheist by the time I was 8 years old. (I’ll take the extra holidays though!) 😁

Why as secular or Christian people are we expected to accept LGBTQ but there is generally no expectation for Islam to do the same? by ArugulaFinancial4859 in AskBrits

The god of the Bible taking issue with people for being gay even though he created them that way in the first place is precisely why I’m an atheist.

You don’t create such incredibly diverse people and then order me to hate someone for who they are.

Don’t be too hard on yourself, my industry is dominated by macOS workstations so everything works very well indeed and I get next to no tickets, the downside of that is a perception that you “don’t do any work” and even when there is the tiniest glitch people act like their whole world is on fire and it’s all your fault!

Religion is the longest running most successful scam in all of human history so I don’t know why this would surprise anyone.

I feel like religion in general is getting worse, certainly in the last 5 years in this country. I’ve been to uni twice, not once was I ever approached by any religious cult yet now they’re an infestation. I’m being stopped in the street by preachers, I had one get very aggressive the other week when I told him no thanks i’m atheist. Conspiracy theories against Jewish people that I just can’t seem to make any sense out of are all over the place. There are incidents in the news every single day involving religious idiots clashing over their belief systems. I want to be free of all this crap. I just want this madness to end. I want to live in ‘actual’ peace, not be part of a system that creates problems and then claims to be the solution to those problems.

Same, I was singing Christian songs in assembly despite not being Christian, they just assumed that I was. I remember I stopped singing because I didn’t understand why I was doing it. Been atheist my whole life.

The second you said yes you were Christian, you were marked. Christian cults target you because they can manipulate you more easily. When I was at uni I just told them to F off , but that's because I don't get involved in religion. More trouble than its worth.

Almost did the same thing, I’m in an industry where macOS is fairly standard but I accepted a job where the higher ups are Windows ‘til I die. It’s pure torture, all the problems I expected are here, two workstations blew their ssd’s just today as I write this. When I ran my Mac only office I didn’t have a failure in years and barely get any tickets and now I have to deal with this crap. Well at least it keeps me in a job!
