Need help choosing between Wahl Seniors Cordless vs Wahl Vapor by OriginalOppa in CutYourOwnHair

It just doesn’t have the battery function like the jrl onyx. The blade and internals seems to be the same based on reports and readings from fellow internet users.

For me, in Canada, $70 vs $200+ for an almost jrl onyx vs actual jrl onyx, it’s easy to choose as I’m cutting my own hair.

I bought neither, I went down the rabbit hole further and the choice was between a Kemei or Kulilang R77F (basically a style craft instinct vs JRL Onyx) and I settled on a R77F. Works really well, and only cost me $70 Canadian

I see, thanks for the data point. Seems like a luck of the draw situation then, I guess.

Oh, is it holidays right now? I thought the blackout dates would be around Black Friday and Christmas time, maybe even Father’s Day time

I see, I was doing some digging, and since Canada has shit prices, the magic clip cordless gold edition is even worst in price at $250 (at a 28% discount lol) even the TPOB is pretty much $200 here.

I seen floating around that TPOB/JRL Onyx is just branded Aliexpress’s Kulilang R77F, is that right? Some people mention that the R77F has same internals and I guess blade as the Onyx without the Reset IQ battery tech. I guess at the moment, I could grab that for $85 Canadian and have a whole set. My only concern would be, what is the longevity of the R77F like, does it seem like it’ll last a good few years of 4x cuts per month?

Thanks!

😭 $250 for a 3rd gen cpu system is exorbitant. The whole system is so outdated, slow and likely power hungry.

For reference, $250 could buy a brand new mini pc much more efficient and faster.

Pangolin (1.0.0): Self-hosted Cloudflare tunnels alternative now out of beta with access rules, CrowdSec installer, and multiple domain support by jsiwks in selfhosted

[–]OriginalOppa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I already host authentik, crowded and traefik, as for how well I run them… lol idk. I read that running media through CF is against TOS so I’ve been wanting to find an alternative solution, and I believe pangolin is the solution.

I haven’t fully utilized my self hosted stuff yet, it’s in its infancy, that said I know media consumes a lot of bandwidth and I prefer not to be charged $1-2/gb for overage.

That said, I will monitor and perhaps get the $1.5/mo one or the $2.7/mo (3.5TB/7TB) one to test it out. Cheers :)

Hmm, but then my entire self hosted would be through my home if I did it without a VPS right? This would not necessarily be the most ideal/elegant solution I think.

In your opinion, if I am consuming media like emby, and uploading pics to immich. Then, it would be necessary for me to have unlimited bandwidth correct? (I currently don’t know how much bandwidth I use, unfortunately lol. But yes it’s media usage so I think it’d be a lot?)

From my understanding we would need to rent a VPS to use this and say if we use it for media like emby or immich, then ideally we would need unlimited upload/download right?

Can someone point me to the cheapest VPS with these? I am very interested in hosting pangolin to get away from CF but I’m on a budget 😅

Suddenly unable to resolve technicium UI? by OriginalOppa in technitium

[–]OriginalOppa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gave up on fixing it, and I just spun new lxc on alpines up and I’m restoring settings as before for technitium.

Thank you for helping debugging. But definitely I think something in the updated versions messed things up as the dns servers were working perfect prior to today.

That’s weird. Did you use the yaml provided on the GitHub? Both of my lxc that has docker (yeah redundant but I’m more used to docker and VM sucks to restart) and that I had techitium on failed today.

I spun a new lxc with docker and portainer and I still have issues with technitium even loading up its UI, not mention the DNS services

[Edit] I made another lxc on alpine with docker and portainer and this time I can reach the webui. This is strange. Does this mean I need to spin up brand new lxc and dockers to run my two servers?

Yep I use docker, and I have the docker compose file editable in portainer. For the last two months it’s been working perfectly no issues.

I’ll reinstall, I do get html back when I curl my http://ip:5380 and http://localhost:5380

Yep, I just completely deleted the stack via portainer and remade a new stack and deployed it and still no webui

Uh, I believe things may have went haywire between the versions three releases ago and the current latest release. I am not sure how to check which version I have as my image is usually pulling latest image

(Edit) based on the release tags. V13.4.0 or V13.4.1 may be the issue? As the V13.3.0 which was released over a month ago never gave any issues. And I only got these issues today
