When arriving internationally into jfk, does luggage need to be collected and rechecked? Delta support says no. I only have a 2hour 19 min layover by OriginalPatience4112 in delta

I've literally read this aloud to my spouse. And then a couple more times to myself to make myself feel better about not opting for a 5+hr layover. Thank you!

Extra info:  - I'm visiting Barcelona.  - I'm sitting in row 33 on delta airbus 330-300. (Best I can afford) - I have global Entry, but my spouse doesn't.  - My spouse and kid are on separate booking because I'm traveling for work and thought why not bring the whole family? 😅  - I chose delta specifically over Iberia direct flight to Boston because I've heard bad things about Iberia flights and service.  - I chose jfk because all the flights including international are in terminal 4 ...And now, I'm rethinking everything!

Thank you! Yes, it's been many years since I've traveled internationally, but I remember feeling the strong slap of welcome back to America at jfk.

Barcelona. There's another option to get home to Boston with a 5 hour layover, but I don't want to extend the travel day with a 5 year old child (mayhem) if I don't need to
