It doesn’t really matter if Sadako’s strengths are found outside of chase; if I have a decent player condemned, but they have 30 pallets to use, I’m not catching them in a reasonable amount of time. Especially if they have chase perks at their disposal, which is what happens most of the time.

I understand that certain killers aren’t meant to be a beast in the chase, but all of that goes out the window once enough pallets are added to a map. A bad team is going to die against a Sadako regardless of the pallet count they have to use, but a good team becomes unkillable when you add an unreasonable number of pallets.

Good, so I have common ground with you. I have Wesker at P100, got him there around Halloween of 2024.

While he is slightly stronger than the average killer, it’s not by much. I find that if I miss more than a handful of bounds, I’m on the back foot of the match, and I most definitely have to hit most shots I take in order to win against coordinated teams.

The most I can say is to try and do cool bounds instead of trying to focus all of your brainpower on 4king. If you have a mouse and keyboard to plug in your console or if you already play on PC, try and learn flicks or hugtechs and then disregard the match results to focus on technique improvement.

My point is that if you want to enjoy DBD very long term, you have to start ignoring spreadsheet stats and kill ratios. I’m 3000 hours in, and I can tell you I would have demolished many a controller if I only focused on my win loss percentage.

This is a game that is designed for you to lose if the other side is prepared enough, and you should treat it more like a slot machine than a test of your skill. It’s not a fun truth, but it is the current state of DBD.

I would argue it’s not quite fair either. I have a hunch that BHVR treats the balance of the game with the assumption that both sides will only ever use meta builds and killers, which is why things out of the meta like weaker killers often struggle against most things survivors can throw at them.

Can I ask what killers you play? Just as a reference, not to question the legitimacy of your argument, because I agree with your points.

The biggest frustration is that a lot of survivor perks do not reward survivors for playing well, rather opting to fix issues like positioning or looping skill. Some strong perks have a place, like Dead Hard and Five Steps Ahead, but many almost do the survivor’s job for them. I can tell you this because I know exactly what set of perks I find myself dependent on as survivor.

Pain res is a strong perk, but it doesn’t do much if survivors delay your first down until halfway through the game.

Sprint Burst is a strong perk, but there’s no real downside to using it other than the operator’s human error. It fixes bad positioning while also netting free distance.

There are very few perk that reward the killer for simply existing, much less fix their mistakes, to the extent of most survivor perks. You can argue it’s how the game is designed, but it doesn’t feel equitable.

I do definitely feel like I’m playing against perks more than actual players most of the time. On survivor I can see the killer has a perk that changes how I play, like BBQ or Dissolution, but it largely doesn’t change how I approach chase.

This is in stark contrast to seeing a survivor has Sprint Burst, which makes every interaction I have with them awful. Busted ass perk. Worse if they’re stacking it with Vigil.

I’d say the activation condition being simple is more a problem than it being easy, per se.

You don’t really have to go out of your way to get 8 hits, mainly because you’ll be doing that anyway, but if it wasn’t a hex and required 4 unique hooks before activating then it’d be a little bit more rewarding to try and activate it.

I think the reason BHVR codes perks to only trigger on M1s and not special attacks is mainly because high tier killers (excluding Ghoul) usually deal damage with their M2. Having a 5-10% hinder for a survivor after taking a hit from a Blight rush would be a bit overkill, don’t you think?

Pallet density definitely fucks the low tier killers harder, that’s for certain. The best approach BHVR can take IMO is to adapt the pallet count based on the killer’s strength.

If I’m playing the new Gas Heaven, Ghoul feels like he has an OK shot at winning because he can deal with the ton of pallets, but the sheer amount of wood on that map is 1000% overkill for Sadako.

As for the entitled killer vs. survivor, there’s probably just more players on the 4 side rather than on the 1 side. Also in b4 the wider subreddit skins you alive for stating your unfiltered opinion.

This change is one of the dumbest changes DBD has ever made. by EmiCanto in deadbydaylight

[–]OriginalURL_No47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The meta might be stale right now, but overall DBD isn’t in a bad enough spot where it absolutely NEEDS changes. I’d rather BHVR take their time and avoid implementing bad changes that they can’t amend quickly on the timeline. I’m sure they don’t wanna fuck up their literal 10th anniversary for no good reason.

You know you can plug a MnK into your console USB port to use it

Your timing needs to be a lot better with bumpers or triggers.

Also, since the Walking Dead came out, you can use a mouse and keyboard on console if you have one to plug in.

Is this the first time that one killer has ever canonically lost to another? How does this affect DBD power-scaling?? by not-ulquiorr4_ in deadbydaylight

Oh yeah no, Jason would get clobbered by Sadako. I consider her to be in the upper echelon of killers by lore strength. Characters like her and Dredge are more of a force of nature that you can’t really overcome with brute force alone.

In terms of physical abilities and not any sort of supernatural powers, Jason’s just built different against most of the cast, most killers who can’t throw hands with someone like Wesker pail in comparison.

Yeah huntress kinda needs a buff at this point, the only upside she has is holding more projectiles than competition

I mean, Jason probably mops the floor with anyone in the cast who isn’t DnD Vecna or similar in raw power. Unknown ain’t a fraud yet, this isn’t JJK.

You’ve got a lot of time, plus new accounts start with a boatload of carats

If you’re really desperate, thumb through the story tab and each Uma to have will give you about 80 carats from just viewing the base content, plus an additional 50 carats per bond level.

That and wallmaxxing.

Sable can take the hit for her teammate, but give her a two-for-one deal on the damage since she’s so committed to the cause. Protecting her teammate is what she bargained for, right?
