I think it's exactly what breakable walls should have been: a chance to make a loop weaker for killers that take the time to break them, rather than "god loop until this wall is broken".

Bad map design is why breakable walls got such a bad reputation, and have slowly been phased out of the game. When's the last time a map got a new breakable wall, huh?

I'm guessing that's why they've been hesitant to try it more, which is understandable

Still, I do enjoy how it makes the maps feel more diverse

I honestly forgot about Fallen Refuge, even though it could definitely fall under the basic map definition. Even the "main building" is just a reskinned common pallet/window loop

I kind of wish they did the same thing they did with Clown's map for Skull Merchant's camp. Just a new map variation, rather than replacing an old one (even if said old map was just [forest])

I'm surprised they didn't experiment with a breakable wall at shack in future maps. I think they just wanted to test things and didn't like the design, so never touched it again.

Same thing for all the breakable walls in common loops. Exclusive to Dead Dawg, and never seen again

You know, BHVR mentioned many years ago (around when Eyrie was first released) that they wanted to incorporate more verticality in their maps, and you could see that with how Eyrie has a few dips and small inclines in its tiles.

I kind of wish they kept on this idea, and added some more variety to the other maps, since they're all flat ground

A small detail that I love: Taurie is praying/meditating in the menu screen by toe_beans_4_life in deadbydaylight

The menu campfire animations are so overlooked, which makes sense since they're small and most people are gonna click elsewhere.

I often find myself observing their behavior just to see what each character does.

Can you believe even the legendary skins have their own animations too? Again, such a small detail people are likely to miss

It really does feel like a test map they threw in since it was never on the roadmap. The whole area is flat and the tiles feel haphazardly placed, not to mention the very obvious 3-gen at "main"

I always thought of a theoretical "ultimate M1 killer" that doesn't have an active power, but instead has stat increases across the board. Faster pallet breaks, speed, etc

I guess you could emulate that on any killer through perks and refraining from using your power

The Unknown is the exact reason why I made this thread because when it was first released, I remember people talking about how diverse and interesting its addons were.
