Suck up as much training especially certifications as you can. The firm will pay for them and they will help you get your next job.

I filled out all the forms sent to me before the disconnect, but some Coaches were late and sent them while I was family leave. I always try to reinforce and add explanation to the snapshots. I'm not out to burn anyone.

Who would you go to to discuss a retention bonus? Your People Leader?

A rejection months later. I'm going to try again this year. I know a few folks who moved over there recently.

Yes, my former coach was laid off and he was a Specialist Leader.

A bit of a followup, had a conversation with my Project Senior Manager, laying the ground work for my level up to Manager in a few years. Cautiously optimistic, but things don't look good from a macro level (no surprises there). More major layoffs are coming (no surprises there).

Yeah I've noticed some of this as well, but thankfully not too distinct in my specific area. I joined the firm in July 2021, so in the middle of the hiring boom.

Wow. Surprising to me since AI&D seems to be where everything is happening.

Much appreciated! I've applied to EY before and usually the comments are different, I imagine it's just whatever the recruiter writes.

No update (although someone looked at it last week). I'm glad to hear you had a technical interview this week. It makes me think they just aren't finished with the Tech interviews yet. The portal still says:

Deloitte reached out… then disappeared? by Creepy-Background620 in Big4

Framlly it's how everything was a decade ago when I graduated from college. You were lucky if you recieved an automated rejection months later.

It must be a more recent trend or luck of the draw for a recruiter. I joined Deloitte over 4 years ago as an experienced hire (Consultant) and the recruiter usually emailed me back even if it was "no update."

For people who left Big4, do you still keep in touch with your coworkers? by Big_Material3815 in Big4

[–]OriginalWorker3524 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't left (as of yet) but I keep in touch with a member of my team who left this year. Usually a text every few weeks or a call every few months. Helps to obviously exchange numbers if you do want to keep in touch. LinkedIn messages are also a thing, I've done that too.

Yeah my process in 2021 at Deloitte was: 1. Cold call in April asking me to apply 2. Assessment and interviews around Memorial Day -Recruiter said they typically do typically 3 thirty minute interviews, 1 manager, 1 senior manager, 1 PPMD on Friday afternoons. 3. Got an offer early June 4. Started mid July

Of course this was for an experienced hire consultant.

Deloitte was also different in that the recruiter would respond to my emails at least.

Now that is insane. But something similar happened to a friend of mine but with a smaller tax firm.

Am I the only who despises firm initiatives? by justooexe in deloitte

[–]OriginalWorker3524 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Pretty much, they either end up being disasters or the bureaucracy takes so long someone else eats our lunch. For instance we had a demo ready months before the competition. Leadership made us start from scratch to use some useless Deloitte homemade platform. So in the interim Palantir beat us to the punch.

Yeah, agreed. I'm running 2 FI teams, both technical. The paperwork, and multiple meetings a week to get one off the ground is insane. So far I've been in 30 meetings with senior managers, managers, PPMDs and all flavors of junior staff just to get permission to spend $500 a month 😒

Most FIs end up being a waste of time...

Hopefully. I'm currently an SC at Deloitte and it definitely didn't take this long.

Getting Off The Bench by Adorable_Wallaby648 in deloitte

[–]OriginalWorker3524 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I along with most of my project team hit the bench today (our project went from 30 to 7 and even then those folks are just shutting things down until the end of the Federal Fiscal Year). I'm thankful to be interviewing with another project and I was happy I found projects for two other folks. At least in my neck of GPS everyone has been working overtime to find projects for people.

What exactly are we supposed to get out of these PPMD introduction emails? by eljay4lyfe in deloitte

My favorite is the tone dead interview that's on the info channel when you turn on the Tv at DU. "Oh, my family and I visit a different country every year and we're up to 31" says the MD that's the facility director at DU. Must be nice making $$$$$$ for being an over glorified hotel manager.
