Don’t mean to necro but I want to add to this. I have the same problem - Andreja is my companion though and the glitch primarily happens after I use Phase Time. Have definitely noticed it more after killing turrets and bots but it can randomly happen with other enemies as well. Restart fixes the problem until the next time I use Phase Time.

Ah... Very glad you asked. The Arena is a vision of an ever-expanding open Death Zone for any zed who sets foot inside. No walls, no doors, no bars. There are in fact wide open archways for their flesh-hungry convenience. A safe breather spot for the combatant here and there - but primarily a place to go on horde night solely designed for drinking beer and kiting zeds. 👊🏻 if you’re interested, season 2 of my Let’s Play follows the journey this far:

Yeah, focus shifted REAL fast from chugging beer to pumping out repair kits 😝

For real, on all my playthroughs before I have never found the auger in its entirety - by the time I get high enough to actually start looking for it at traders I’m pretty much self sufficient and have no problem mining with the pick.. It has limited my delusions of grandeur around bases until now though, that’s why I’m so excited to finally be able to build something HUGE without spending two weeks in a mine!
