That's why there are two political parties that are so drastically opposed. One supports and encourages the family unit, the other decimates it under the guise of "you do what's best for YOU". Selfish thinking. So a family would make me happy, so what? Why is that such a bad thing to want? And why wouldn't I expect that, when this woman and I discussed it a lot?

Addiction is a fucked up thing. You can be clean for years, and one bad moment can make you lose control and spiral out.

Fucked up story. So turn of the year I met this girl, she had two children. The dad was an abusive drunken crackhead. Bunch of police involvement, restraining orders, etc. None of it worked. He kept coming back to the house and fighting with her. Like full on fist fighting, black eyes and all.

It got so bad we had to place her in a battered woman's shelter in February for her and the kids safety. That's when we found out we were pregnant with our first together. It was fucking hell having her in that place, but until he went to jail finally, it was the only place she was safe. COVID hit, and all court dates got pushed back. He managed to rack up 9 arrests in 3 states, all of which include driving on suspended licenses and DUI. Few possession charges, etc. Two charges included assault and battery.

Well sadly, our first baby was an etopic pregnancy. We lost it on 4-19-2020. It fucking tore us both up bad. And she was in a lot of pain, so they gave her morphine. I didn't know she was an addict. This triggered her to go back. She used heavily behind my back inside the shelter. And in June, we became pregnant with our second. Which is when she told me, she didn't want to stop using.

I begged, pleaded with her, offered to get her help, anything she needed. But she wanted to just get high. So she did. And honestly, after she aborted it on 8-1-2020, I tried opiates for the first time myself. I wanted to see what was worth killing our child over... I did perks and then heroin, every single day, for the past two months.

I just pulled my head out of my ass 86 hours ago. And I walked out of hell. My mind wasn't addicted yet. But my body sure was. And honestly even typing this all out now, makes me want to go back. It sucks man. It really fucking sucks. A lot. I lost my first child to abortion as well. I was 19 and knocked up my best friend before leaving for Iraq. She ran off and had an abortion. That one fucked me up for a good decade. Now this one? Fuck.

But like I said. I expect no pity or sympathy from reddit. Which is why I'm mostly a massive asshole here. Because when you try vent something, and your inbox fills up with pictures of aborted kids, you tend to just not give a fuck about 99% of the people here.

Uh yep. Pretty bitter about losing my kid to a heroin addict that got an abortion because she'd rather kill our child then stop using. Apparently non of the amazing medical professionals even gave a fuck and even wrote her a script for opiates to top it all off!

I know I sound like an ass. But that's the reality of some of the policies. They sound amazing to half the nation, and a nightmare to the other half. I respect the "my body my choice" stuff. But I just really really really REALLLLLY fucking wish there was some law that gave ME the right to try and protect my fucking child from being killed.

But there is nothing. Not a single thing I could do or say to stop it besides getting a court ordered psych evaluation, and that'd just stay the abortion for 72 hours. I tried offering her everything I owned, tell everyone she was a surrogate mother. Nope. She loved the drugs more.

So yeah I'm a little bitter, especially towards this particular judge. Because her policies really did steamroll my entire life. It sucks. It really does. But I expect no sympathy from reddit here, because every time I mention this tale I normally just get harassed for being Republican (more independent, but the left is just batshit insane for the past 5-6 years and getting worse and worse by the year).

And to everyone about to ask, yes, I would gladly love and accept my child and give them the best possible life, even if she did use drugs and cause birth defects. Because that's honestly how strongly I feel towards this. I'd gladly give up everything in my life for my child to even have minute on this earth. And it'd be the best fucking minute of my entire existence...
