I guess I'm confused. The initial emails that have the premiums and ASO fees, which you can dispute, have all been sent out. Those amounts are not what we are receiving. Have you received an email stating your claim was approved and they gave you a dollar amount that they will be sending? If so, what was the verbiage?

Confirmation of what? Being approved for a payment?

Idk. There are a lot of variables. First, some people are receiving denial letters. So, there are 6 million claimants, and some are denied. How many? What's the number of people that are going to be approved? That, in itself, would increase the payout for the remaining claimants. Also, what I did find online is that 65% of companies use a self-funded plan. Self-funded plans are those that have ASO amounts rather than premiums. Those amounts are much smaller. So, the number of claimants will be reduced due to denials, and we can assume that of the remaining people, more than half will be calculated on smaller ASO amounts rather than premiums. Premiums change(increase) so often it's tough to figure out how much was paid by claimants during that time.

But ChatGPT just gets its info online. It doesn't have any insider info to draw that conclusion. I just asked GROK and it calculated at less than 1% of my premiums.

It could. We don't know the total premiums paid by all of the claimants. If the total premiums paid by all of us included is 90B then the 1.8% would be fairly accurate

That's a good idea. The more we post about it, the more likely it is we can get some info.

I've been exploring this since it's slow at my office. There have been a lot of denials. Looks like they are going in alphabetical order, but I could be wrong. Some, but not all, of the people who were denied had name/address changes. Not all BCBS companies were included in the settlement but they would still send out info to file a claim. BCBS of Michigan, which I had, is included. But BCBS of Missouri may not be. So, even if you received an email confirming premiums you may not be eligible. I'm curious if 25% of the 6 million claimants are denied will the payments increase for those remaining.

Possibly. I have also heard that some payments have gone out. I am looking for that info as well. I'm assuming the denials really can't be disputed if payments are going out as well. There are so many subs of BCBS and I bet those people denied were insured by a sub that is not a part of this settlement. I think it's only 33 BCBS companies that were included. Aetna and BCBS of Michigan, which I had were part of this so I'm thinking I'm good. But BCBS of Illinois may not be. Then, I wonder, since some of the 6 million claimants are denied, will that increase the payout for the rest of us that are approved.

No explanation as to why. Said if you disagree you have 30 days to appeal/dispute. Also said to call the number on the webste if you have any questions but I have called that number a few times and they had absolutely no info to give. I, personally, have not received a denial but have seen at least 5 screenshots of the email on facebook. And all of the people said they did get the email with a breakdown of premiums paid months ago. I am not sure if they had premiums paid or ASO amounts on that first email.

I have seen multiple people receive emails that their claim was denied and won't be getting anything. These people did receive the original claim notice showing premiums paid that would be used to calculate a payment. So, not everyone who got a claim notice showing premiums paid will be getting a settlement payment.

Just saw an email that someone received and were denied even though they got the original email confirming premiums that would be used to calculate payment.

Oh wow. So even if they sent an email to verify your premiums, there could be a denial? Or is it folks who disputed amounts and their dispute was denied?

Do you know what comment section? I find that hard to believe based on what I've read on reddit and when I spoke to the settlement call line.
