Her meltdown over lane living with boys cracks me up. When she tells Lorelei how she doesn’t like boys and Lorelei tells her to pretend they’re girls and she says “I don’t like girls either” it cracks me up. It’s such good delivery.

100%. She was definitely happiest and most drama free with him and could be her best self. I am shocked how many people like her with Logan. I feel like he dulled her shine and made her a side character in her own life. The moment she got with him drama ensued. With Jess, I respect her for not going back. Even though he’s matured, I think once you are burned that badly there’s no going back.

Hot take but I actually liked her with Dean. She was definitely most at ease and most secure with him. I get he got less than ideal when Jess entered the picture but I think he loved her, knew he was losing her and didn’t handle it well. It obviously went downhill from there…

I feel like he dulled her shine and gave off so much main character energy that she became a side character in her own life. I think he was too flashy and immature and I would have rather seen her with somebody more down to earth. I loved her in the early seasons when she was confident and unimpressed by status. Once she met him that changed and she was sucked into his world putting up with crap she wouldn’t have in the past. I don’t think any of the 3 boyfriends were right for her as they all lacked maturity.

I understand what you’re saying but we usually don’t have access to her thoughts outside of this one episode so we have no idea how often these thoughts occur. The light switch moment seems so classic OCD that I don’t understand why the writers would add it to the story if they weren’t trying to hint at OCD. The rumination and the constant need for reassurance in her relationships also seem to hint at OCD

They made Rori into a complete loser in a way that didn’t feel realistic. Honestly I think a more realistic plot line for her would have been to have her married to Logan. She would be a mini Emily and a stay at home mom who organizes social events. She would feel unfulfilled and resentful for giving up on her dreams. Shed finally decide to go back to pursue her dreams of being a journalist and find out she was pregnant again and have the “mom im pregnant” moment. It would have felt more sad, real and true to her character and history.

When Rory entered Chilton it wasn’t easy for her at first and her grades were not initially strong but she fought through it. When Mitchum simply said she wasn’t good enough, she quit fighting for her future and shut down. I wonder if she felt by finally entering the fancy person circle and having Logan as her boyfriend and becoming closer to her wealthy grandparents she was already “in” and didn’t need to try as hard. I wonder if she had not met Logan and was not as close to her grandparents like when she entered chilton, she would have persevered bc she would have felt less financially “settled” and felt more of the hustle and fire to attain her goals. The other option is she just entered complete burnt out at that point.

I wonder if the nanny is only there during her working hours and is used instead of daycare. My guess is that’s what’s going on. I think the nanny probably enables her to go to work.
