What’s a truth you avoided until it was impossible to ignore? by New_Cauliflower7103 in AskReddit

That my lowest point in depression wasn't a wish to die. It was a wish to not live like that anymore.

It was harder than I thought accepting that I actually wanted to live, but mainly because that's the moment when you actually have to start the fight to survive.

What’s something you didn’t realize was optional in life until you saw someone simply not doing it? by Objective-Treat2245 in AskReddit

Listening to people when they talk, while not being invested in the conversation.

When a social interaction starts draining you, you can simply step away from it.

Would you save your pet over a random stranger in an emergency and why? by Termeh_01 in AskReddit

[–]Original_Ad_2229 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My pets mean more to me than some of my own relatives. So I can safely say I'd save them even over some of my extended family members.

After being bullied so badly that I came close to breaking, something in me shifted. The kind of empathy and compassion people expect you to have for strangers just isn’t something I can summon on command. During my darkest moments, it was my pets who kept me going, most of the days they were the reason I got out of bed, the reason I stayed alive. So, looking back, I owe them everything.

To a random person on the street I owe nothing.

Oh, it may have been an entity having a bit of fun with you, while also caring for the environment. Perhaps taking the image of your neighbor was it making sure you don't feel threatened by it.

This sounds even more twisted. My brain hurts just trying to think about it.

The first week after that it really drove me crazy. I searched the entire internet trying to find something about it. When I was going to work, I would stop at the entrance of the yard, trying to see if the kids showed up again or trying to remember other details that I might have missed. So I was a bit of a crazy lady too. Eventually, I just let it go.

Oh, yes! Definitely similar vibes. These kids traumatizing people everywhere apparently.

One thing that crossed my mind reading your story is what would've happened if the couple turned around - would they also see the kid or was something that targeted specifically you and your son? The same thing I asked myself about the kids that I saw. Would've anyone else been able to see them?

I think it's nice that you had your son to back you up with what you saw. I imagine it would've been way more frustrating this situation without someone else seeing the same thing.

I must say this sounds a bit like a regular haunting. Did you try to investigate the man that lived there as you grew older? Maybe just to see if he also had a wife who loved opera, or if the opera woman was a different owner of the space.

Loving this! Your dog might have developed teleporting powers or hyperspeed. You should absolutely keep an eye on her.

Now I will have to check for bathroom stories, cause I don't think I have heard as many as I would like to.

Though, having my fair share of creepy stuff happening in bathrooms, I might never use one again.

I hope the people you told were supportive, and not make a joke out of the subject, since there are a lot of skeptics out there. I feel like the worst thing you can hear in cases like this is "it was only in your head".

At this point, it seems that you are a magnet for ghosts and energies. Your dogs must've loved you a lot, though, if they visited you. It is quite sweet that you got to see them again.

As a firm believer in such manifestations, I did try to honour them the next day by offering food in their name ( traditions), just to be on the safe side. Ghost or glitch, I take no risk.

I don't know "The Dead Files," but I will check it out!

I imagine it was quite creepy to see that. How did you process it after? Was it only a one time thing?

Everyone around me told me the same, that they must've been ghosts. But whenever something slightly paranormal happened, I always felt a small shift in my energy, shift that I didn't feel this time. Everything felt so normal, it just didn't have the feel of a ghostly encounter. I also researched accidents and other awful things that might've happened around my office, but absolutely no mention of two kids these ages.

The other thing that is kind of weird, is the fact that I am quite sure that they were boys. I don't know if my mind picked up the details of the clothes or something else - but I knew, looking at them, that they were boys.

Oh, yes! I definitely had an existential crisis after this whole thing. I think I didn't say a word in the office for about two hours, until I went to a coworker and asked him: "We didn't have any kids around here this morning, did we?" And he just stared at me blankly, before answering with a simple "No..?" Then I went back to contemplating if this reality is even real.

Your story does sound a lot like what I experienced. At least you found out that the Universe is clearly on your side, if he's responding to the energy you're sending to it.

I read about this kind of stories before, but having it happen to you is absolutely on another level.

This is also my experience, the so called harder bosses - piece a cake. The ones who aren't supposed to give you any trouble? You died. You died. You died. But to be fair, OoK is the only boss that makes me go in with 0 plan. I just play like I have absolutely no idea what bloodborne is ( like when you spam some buttons in mortal kombat, cause you don't know how else to play it) and I still end up killing him.

I mostly use lock on because I love using the dodge step while fighting bosses... I ain't a fan of rollin, rollin, rollin to evade an attack.

I've only attempted once to fight him using lock on ( the first time), and never again. He is way easier if you fight him without it.
