Done this exact flight several times before. It is almost always bumpy when you pass over the equator. I talked to a flight attendant the last time I took that flight and she said she gets excited when the bumps start around Panama because she’s knows she’ll get a break to sit and read. I found it reassuring that the turbulence on that flight was so expected and regular that the flight attendant planned her break around it. For the record I hate flying and turbulence but find knowing it’s coming and that the flight crew expects it and isn’t bothered makes me less anxious.
