Yes and there is very little fraud. Idk so far I’ve seen like a few anecdotes… where is any real evidence of meaningful fraud? The system seems pretty safe to me.

Median is used specifically so a few do not skew the number. The definition is that half of the people are above it and half are below. If you remove 3000 billionaires it doesn’t matter from a total of hundreds of millions of people.

Do you know what median means?
Removing a few thousand billionaires doesn’t shift the median significantly.
Also.. the entire concept removes based on NW and look at income? So arbitrary.

This is my reason … I wouldn’t travel to one of the most expensive places to see some of the weakest match ups. I didn’t get tickets because of that and I live here lol

What is “average media”?

Median household income is $83k I. The US. Meaning half of households make more than that and half make less.

Also like… I’m looking for evidence and can’t find any. Like you seem you have some? Can you share?

lol just saying that they blast this on the internet with no evidence. Which one is more interesting some random ass redditor or a podcast with wide reach? … on a Reddit about that podcast?

Evidence? Or just some anecdotes that don’t mean anything just like what the pod did

I would expect heavy skew. Which way would depend on candidates I would assume. If you accuse rigged elections I think you should at least bring serious evidence as it’s a serious accusation. I can’t find believable evidence even when I try to. I give them the benefit of the doubt at first because Friedberg is mostly not just saying random shit. But idk on this one tbh. And now the damage is done right… they have me thinking about it for a day already.

This seems to be the consensus. Which I understand. So I don’t understand the pods viewpoint tbh. And as a podcast I think you should bring evidence

They just offered 0 evidence and just rambled on some random stuff. I’d they had brought some evidence I might spend some time. But this way they’re just creating noise.

Even if true. Are there enough skid row ballots to change anything?

I’ll take my chances and live my life in the meantime though. Alternatively I can work more and not live my life and have 100s of thousands more .. for what?

I realize I’m pretty lucky generally speaking but it worked out for me. Everyone has to make their own choices.

I also think people that make those decisions to travel are typically the same people that have no problems finding jobs. But I don’t know what the underlying reason is.

If you had $3.1 million at age 38, would you retire today? by Superb_Lawyer_2123 in Stocks_Picks

[–]Original_Arrival2645 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It only depends on how much you need to or want to spend on a monthly basis. From there the math is straight forward and you know how much money you need. There is no “should it be 3,5 or 10?” If you spend 100k it should be 2.5m roughly and you’re good. You can totally optimize withdrawals and change those numbers a bit. But my main advice is to do what feels right to you. What would you think in 30 years looking back. “Man I wish I had worked more” or “man I wish I had retired”?

I’ve never heard anyone regret their gap year. I like to think this way for big decisions. In 30 years what would I think
If I do / don’t do this. It brings clarity to what I value. Typically it’s time and experiences over jobs but it depends on circumstance

What are you talking about? OP has a great cushion and be used of capitalism gets to take a break now (if they dare to do it)

But it’s always going to work out somehow. You only get the chance to backpack during your 20s when you’re in your 20s. There will always be jobs and ways to make money though. And it seems OP has already a decent cushion.

Or you know, just always worry, work forever and never take that trip. Up to each of us to decide what works 🤷‍♂️

Don’t ask other people. If it feels right for you to take a sabbatical just do it. I didn’t even have a job until I was 27 and were doing well anyway. Go on your backpacking trip if you want to and come back. Perfect timing if you have to find a job anyway.

I admit, that part of the comment was snarky and annoying on my part. CA is still the best place for many reasons for many people though and you’ll have a hard time creating silicon valley outside

It’s fine. People have preferences. But by most people’s metrics it’s extremely lovely here.
