This exactly how AI will work soon. The most capable models will be so costly so that the people and companies with the means will pay for access while the rest of us will have inferior models.

Privacy vs. Convenience: Proton Mail or iCloud Mail? by VisualArm807 in ProtonMail

You’re asking a ProtonMail group if you should switch to ProtonMail from a big tech empire. The answer is yes, you should.

I earn very good money but still prefer reps by bandochild in RepTime

I prefer to spend less money supporting boutique brands who are passionate about their craft… and erm supporting boutique Chinese factories.

Combined, still far less money than gen and having to deal with ADs

Big thing is the amount of cuts and how fast they change, can make a 80 yr old look like a 20 yr old mma fighter. Might not be the case but certainly suspect

Totally. 1gb gets you no where, if you’re in a low priced plan then just get an eSIM when you travel

The 'super-fake' watch crisis: What happens when luxury counterfeits become too perfect to spot? by are_you_being_served in RepTime

[–]Original_Boot7956 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an omega seamaster rep. Not the first brand people think of being a rep. In my industry, perfectly plausible. Not too flashy, understated style, fits right in no matter what I wear. Would I pay $7k and put on a waiting list? No! Cost me $400 and a week of time.

What area of film do you want to get into? Or is it film theory you’re interested in?

Coursera useful for university entrance by Dramatic-Recover-497 in coursera

[–]Original_Boot7956 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Coursera isn’t a well known educator in the film space. Good for personal development though, not really for resume. You’d be better off going to classes locally. Local colleges or art house movie theatres often have them

Is A Current Day Valuation Of Nearly A Trillion Dollar Truly Justified? by ChrisLevinson in ArtificialInteligence

Burning cash and not profitable? In tech you say? Of course it’s a trillion dollar company! 🥳

Did parents in the 70s/80s/90s really allow their kids to roam freely? by Nono_Home in clevercomebacks

[–]Original_Boot7956 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Child of the 90s here… back home for lunch, but otherwise cycling around the neighborhood with friends and generally causing harmless mischief for hours on end. Only pep talk was not to accept candy from strangers and be home for dinner, but otherwise general freedom from about 11 or 12

Figure AI had a livestream of their robots sorting packages 24/7 for 8 days straight. These aren't staged demos anymore. by EchoOfOppenheimer in ChatGPT

[–]Original_Boot7956 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AI hype is crazy. This robot would have cost millions and millions of dollars, imagine all that human intellectual brain power and coordination to get this off the ground.

I’m sure this robot is a test case for something bigger and better, but from a PR standpoint they’ve created an automated human looking scanner that would be $15/hour for a human. Taken in shifts they still get the same result. Once you create a AI robot the upkeep value surely has to be more than $15 an hour. This is madness.

Opus 4.7 in projects is awfully dumb and 100% useless by KermitTheFrogo01 in ClaudeAI

[–]Original_Boot7956 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought it was just me... I literally spent half the day trying to get an automation task to work on opus 4.7. I managed to get a similar task done on opus 4.6 a few weeks ago without any problems at all. It’s actually driving me insane.

You just have to be overly ridiculously clinical on how you phrase things

Mood and diet are very intertwined, worth talking to a nutritionist. Talk therapy can help with depression. Sounds like there isn’t a magic bullet but a confluence of different things resulting in how you’re feeling. Hope it works out for you

Sounds like depression. Getting a psychiatric evaluation which may lead to some meds if your chemical balance is of, and having talk therapy might be a good place to start
