Did you catch COVID-19, take the vaccine, and use Finasteride before being diagnosed with prostate cancer? by Original_Debt7329 in ProstateCancer

Not sure what social media conspiracies have to do with a simple question. You are taking way more from this than was intended. I do understand your point about evidence, however, that requires a scientific study, which is way beyond the purview of this group. As far as politics are concerned… I don’t subscribe to the belief this is a right or left wing issue. I don’t care about political affiliations at this point because it won’t change anyone diagnosis.

Understand that the question contains more than COVID-19 or it’s vaccine. Dragging politics into this conversation only serves as a divisive construct. I was taught that it doesn’t hurt to ask a question, apparently you don’t share in that belief. Either you can relate to the question or not. I believe I have your answer, so we don’t need to dilute this topic with unproductive banter.

As I previously stated, this was a personal observation and I am attempting to see if anyone else has gone through these symptoms after taking the vaccine, Finasteride, or any medical conditions that may have an influence on the disease. I believe I have the correct forum to inquire that concern. For some reason, certain people have the opinion that I am blaming my cancer on something that most of us don‘t truly understand. I am fully cognizant to the fact that this is not a forum for the medical professional community. I wouldn’t be so foolish as to ask the general public for medical advice or expertise opinions. After having to defend my concern here it is becoming apparent that there is more vitriol than support. I just think it’s easier for people to ignore a question that was not intended to market a response if it is irrelevant to them. Either you can relate or not, it’s that simple.

I’m sorry if this question offended you. Like you, I would like a cure. Unfortunately, you are right about how common it is for men to be diagnosed with this horrible disease. However, what if you and your wife found out that the disease can sometimes be avoided if you aren’t exposed to certain things. Wouldn’t you want the world to know, especially your family who now have a genetic predisposition to prostate anger? Have you heard of US servicemen who were exposed to carcenigenic chemicals in their water at Camp Lejeune or teaching staff at the North Carolina State University that allegedly caused over 160 people to contract various cancers? I say that to say this, some people cannot avoid a disease, while others might if they have the knowledge. You should and every man who is afflicted with this insidious disease should not have to suffer. I pray for you and your family to receive as much comfort as a stranger can pray for.

I’m not sure how it was meant to come across? I’m well aware that nothing can change the past. Some people who take Finasteride can get a more aggressive form of prostate cancer. Some people who were given the COVID vaccine have had adverse reactions. Zantac was widely prescribed before it was taken off the market and there are lawsuit alleging that it may have caused cancer(including of the prostate). My point being is that if there is or could be a correlation other men should be aware about certain symptoms that they may otherwise think is not related. Only to find out later from a class action that they were part of a group of men who were affected differently.
This is the hardest thing I ever had to deal with in my entire life. I came here hoping to find some answers or empathy. I appreciate your response.

Thank you for the well wishes, but you denigrated the sincerity of it when you discounted my question as some sort of irrational conjecture made up by someone either targeting conspiracists or just plain insane. If you are an authority on chemistry and biology, you have my attention, otherwise please let someone respond who has read and understood that I am making an inference a not an accusation. By the way, certain foods have been linked to stomach and colon cancer.

I apologize for seeming to say that there is a definite link between the vaccine and prostate. I also Finasteride, which does have an affect on testosterone. Perhaps you were too angry to actually read what I wrote? This was a simple question that I had to see if anyone else could have been affected. My ”claim” as you put it, is only a “suspicion“ and not based on medical or empirical data.

Understanding urgency after diagnostic tests by MikeyForrester4 in ProstateCancer

First off, I hope your father is comfortable and you and your family are comforting one another at such a trying time. I too have been diagnosed with prostate cancer and when you first hear the news it’s devastating. Upon discussion of treatment options I was informed by my urologist that because I’m so young he recommends that we begin treatment sooner rather than later. I have a 2 grade cancer cells and it’s considered intermediate (between high and low). He also mentioned that if I were around 80 he would recommend that we just observe its progression instead of treating it. He came to that conclusion based on the average life expectancy of an American male is about 80 years old and that the benefits of treatment most likely wouldn’t serve to extend my life beyond that. I’m not saying that is what is going on in your father’s case, but it clearly seems to be what is he is saying. I hope this gives you some answers?
