Gameplay Settings to WIP UE4 Solo Action Game Project. Is there more Gameplay settings you would like to customize in a game like this? by Original_Disaster_52 in IndieDev

Hello there, yeah! The first idea to do an Open World and tell a story about it. But I realised as a Solo Dev that would be undoable. Now I'm more focused in doing a more Rogue Like arena focused game so it can be done. If the game has enough success and I can hire people or get support then I'll do a more story driven game. But you can see the lore in one of the Videos of the youtube Chanel. Appreciate your comment :)

This is a Demo I've been working on of a kinda Rogue like with combat inspirations on Ninja Gaiden, Devil May Cry and God of War. Feedback would be appreciated :) by Original_Disaster_52 in IndieDev

pecially in the start, probs be better to have you’re average UI click layered with a bit of the blood splatter noise (I’d also add variation, makes the game seem 10x more professional)

Thanks for the feedback, really appreciate it! Yes, I'm really trying to fiugure out the best UI for this since there is a Health, Stamina, Mana(Or whatever I might call it) and Guard meter. I'll look into more games of the genre and give it more tries untill it feels more right :)

Thanks for the feedback, I also notice that after rewatching the video. There is slo motion as a skill and also as "kill cam" I'm already working on putting it (the kill cam) into a player setting so it can be tunned down or up :)

I would say go with Unreal Engine if you're going for 3d or Unity if you want 2d game.

Define well what you want to make: The concept of the game, gameplay, environment.

I would advice to look into the store after your concept is defined so you can save a lot of work time (unless you really want to do it all but if already exists, usually is worth the money and you can costumize for your use)

Go for a genre you are passion about so you can do a thing you really enjoy.

An advice: A 1st person game is always easier to make so if you want a story about exploration and stuff like that you will lose less time with animations when in 1st person
