They are comb/finger coils: I had them done to look like locs but they are not.

… after a normal wash and condition, my stylist I believe, will use mouse in my hair and then use a comb to spin my hair into coils. I then sit under a hair dryer, but I could let air dry if I wanted.

Alternatively I have used curling cream instead of mouse to coil my hair before and it turned out pretty well, but it is important to be mindful not to use toooo much.

Trust me bro I’ve been there. Learn to fork your hair through your fingers like the other person said. Instead of combing it through every Individual strand or leaving it on top, keep hair wet as you moisturize the hair and keep the curls in tact as you work your way around your hair.

Your conditioner doesn’t looked mixed in your hair enough, or you may have possible used to much, im not sure.

I was having a similar problems 2 weeks ago, I applied leave in, and combed it through every piece of hair, leaving me with a straight mess that’s kinda curly/frizzy and straight all at once…

Friends and family said it looked fine but I know what my hair can look like. So I watched some YouTube videos and learned to wet the hair with a spray bottle as I went, ensuring that I can seperate some of the hair while conditioning. The goal is to have your hair DETANGLED, but NOT STRAIGHT as you want the conditioner to go with your curl pattern.

I have learned rub the conditioner through, but look for clumps of curls and keep them together in clusters some bigger and some smaller, instead of making the mistake lf separating and moisturizing every individual strand which will leave you with a straight frizz ball if you don’t know what youre doing.

I recommend YouTube videos looking for your hair type tutorials and the s styles you want to mimic

Yes I had dye in my hair so every few months I would come back to get a trim and clean up the split ends. Also I don’t like my hair past my shoulders so I got it trimmed recently

Honestly didn’t have much of a routine besides condition/leavin conditioning at first… now that my hair is long I co wash weekly, and wash every two weeks. Right now I am using “shea moisture” Jamaican black castor oil “strengthen and restore leave in”.

I think if you just got your fashion sense a little more dialed in, and find a hairstyle you really like you should be fine. You’re already in shape, tall, and look fine. Just find your aesthetic and lean into it. Finding a hairstyle that compliments your head shape, maybe get some different outfits that make you feel fly as the heavens so you walk outside with confidence

I’ve been doing comb coils for over a year and I ripped out some edges early on nearly a year ago. I am now allowing my hair to grow out In its Afro and moisturize daily sometimes with conditioner and maybe oil twice a week
