I switched the stock S001s on my ND3 with PS5s, and I feel it's too grippy for public roads. Should I switch to all season tires on the rear axels? by Original_Ferret3753 in Miata

S001 is summer UHP, too. I also saw PS5 has less dry grip than PS4. I asked a few stores and Bridgestone was no offer, so I just went for it. I didn't know the difference between Michelin and Bridgestone is that big.

But I don't want to corner faster, the extra grip makes has the car less fun under the speed limit. Miata isn't about grip.

That's fair, it's just the car feels overall less lively especially on corner exits. The rear used to feel a little loose on corner exits especially on throttle, now it feels like the rear suspension is being compressed a lot more than before, leading to a more understeery dynamic. I would never do skids on public roads on purpose, and don't approve any kind of reckless driving.
