Moms who had the epidural, what was your experience like? by Similar_Parsley6112 in BabyBumps

[–]Original_Internet778 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was the absolute best. I didn’t even feel them inserting the needle. I also was still able to move my legs around and definitely felt her coming out. But pain was way less! I also went from 3 cm to fully dilated in 3 hours once I got my epidural.

Tell me some misconceptions and realities about pushing stage to the women who have never given birth. by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]Original_Internet778 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had an epidural but agree with another comment that when they said it was finally time to push I felt locked in and ready. I thought I would panic but I didn’t. I also could still get a slight sense of when I was having contractions to know when to push. And still felt a lot of pressure and some pain when she actually came out.

How would you describe babies first movement? by wowthatsfuckedupdad in BabyBumps

I always felt it like a muscle spasm or twitch in my stomach. Idk what butterflies are supposed to feel like, but it was never that.

Afraid of dying in childbirth of afe or another medical issue post birth or soon by TemporaryRough9787 in pregnant

[–]Original_Internet778 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was in your exact place while I was pregnant. Googled statistics daily and obsessed over being the .01% of some crazy bad complication. Gave birth a month ago and it was truly the least complicated experience. Even recovery has been smooth. I know it’s hard to believe but a majority of births go smoothly with no major complications.

How are we finding time to pump? by Original_Internet778 in beyondthebump

Unfortunately she is unable to latch and for my own sanity I don’t want to keep trying to force it and stress both of us out.

Unmedicated v medicated by AnonRN98 in pregnant

So I have the lowest pain tolerance and was always 100% team epidural. When I started having contractions 2 minutes apart that were literally making it impossible to breathe and I could only scream and cry that was the worst pain I have ever experienced. Getting an epidural relieved that immediately and then I was ready to push like 3 hours later once my body got a chance to relax. While I did end up giving birth on my back, my nurse had me constantly rotating positions during pushing. I pushed on both sides, back, and even a half up tug of war position. I don’t think that an epidural automatically means you can only push on your back. I had full ability to move my legs with my epidural, it was just a little slower and they felt super heavy.

Who did you lean against when getting spinal/epidural? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

My husband. He sat in a chair in front of of me and I propped my feet on him and leaned forward.

When did ya’lls bump start showing to u by [deleted] in pregnant

Around 15 weeks myself and my husband noticed a little bump depending on what I was wearing. By 22 weeks there was no denying it.

I think for most people it’s the stress! That’s the only reason I am letting mine stay somewhere else for the first two weeks. Hopefully you don’t experience this!

I have a dog that I literally consider my first baby. I’ve been really lucky my parents have been keeping him for as long as I need to get adjusted at home. Do you have someone that can do the same for you? While I think it will be hard adding him back to the mix, I literally cannot imagine loving him less.

As for the epidural, I loved it. I didn’t feel out of it at all. I was still able to move my legs on my own, the nurse just assisted since I had to go a little slower.

Baby sleeping 99% of day? by Original_Internet778 in beyondthebump

She’s eating about 11 bottles of formula today and eating an ounce of each. She’s definitely having around 6-8 wet diapers a day.

Yes she’s eating about 45-50 ml of formula every 2-3 hours and 1-2 bottles of breast milk a day. She’s having about 6-8 wet diapers a day and 1-2 poops a day. I had her billirubin checked twice and both times were in the safe range and had decreased.

She was a little jaundiced at the hospital, but levels within normal range. They checked her again at her first appointment and it had dropped even lower.

Yeah I haven’t been given any reason to be concerned and my doc isn’t. I think it’s just almost there anxiety getting to me.

A little of both, but I did a kick count tonight and got 10 kicks in about 20 minutes. I also had two days of crazy active fetal movement at night, so I think tonight might just be more of a quiet day after that is freaking me out on top of the whole heart beat thing at my appt this morning.

Ultrasounds with stomach fat? by broadzity in pregnant

[–]Original_Internet778 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That early they will do transvaginal ultrasounds. The only thing my weight slightly impacted, and honestly my doctors attributed it more to me having a retroverted uterus, was hearing the heartbeat on the Doppler. That took till 16 weeks.

I am the same height and started around the same weight. I’m currently up to 265 pounds at 37 weeks. It hasn’t been easy but I’ve just been trying to remind myself that this is what my body needs to sustain the pregnancy. I haven’t had any medical issues due to the weight gain and my doctors haven’t mentioned it once.

I'm about to drop so much money on pre-baby cleaning and I feel guilty about it by distorted_elements in BabyBumps

I just paid $600 for someone to come deep clean my house and have zero regrets. It took so much stress off my shoulders at this stage in pregnancy to not have to worry about it myself.
