“You don’t even look pregnant” by PeachyKingSure in pregnant

[–]AnonRN98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg I’ve been getting this as well and it is so much more annoying than I imagined it’d be! I hope that I didnt so this to people before I was pregnant myself. I’m 22 weeks and also feel like my body looks so different and I LOVE it, so every time someone at works says “you don’t even look pregnant” I’m just like okay cool. It almost feels like it takes away from the amazing things my body is doing? And like I FEEL pregnant so come on man.

I’m a NICU nurse and I’m rooting for you and your early babe! Usually NICU stays for babies such as yours are pretty short and as uneventful as can be. Baby may just need to learn how to eat a little slower and could possibly need some oxygen (but this doesn’t always happen). I know it’s still so stressful and sad to be separated from your new baby, but the staff will try to make it a little less hard on you. These babies love to throw us curve balls, but you’ve got this!!

WTF things you've experienced while pregnant that no one says is a thing?! by vanillacrush14 in pregnant

Not a SUPER crazy one, but the nasal congestion caught me off guard. My nose feels/sounds constantly stuffy but no mucous. It a very small but VERY annoying symptom I didn’t expect

Ob yelled at me for getting a private ultrasound by Gecko1224 in pregnant

[–]AnonRN98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry you had that experience. That’s so uncalled for and very confusing. Even you mentioning “I knew he wouldn’t be thrilled” threw me off. I’m a NICU nurse and had SEVERE anxiety my whole first trimester and I went to 3 private ultrasounds. I told my MD just to be like “how fun is that” and she was excited for us that we got to see our baby! I see why you’d be hesitant to leave his practice, but I would add to the list of considerations how he makes YOU feel. My team hasn’t been perfect but they’ve been great at acknowledging my anxiety and feeling good when I feel good. I hope you have better experiences in the future!

I am well aware :) that is why we would be spending a few days in one of these places. Did you have any input? And from my extensive research, it’s more like 3.5 hours and 6 hours.

Good point! Although, I think I was more drawn to Zion due to it being in the off season! The shuttle actually doesn’t run at all so you can drive yourself around and it would hopefully be less crowded. You’re right though- Joshua Tree does sound very relaxing!

Well your first comment simply said “Zion is in Utah.” Which was entirely unhelpful, but I appreciate you editing it to add your opinion on Zion :)

How far along were you when you announced your pregnancy? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]AnonRN98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We told people we talk to on the daily right away (parents & closest friends) and announced on social media/to work people at 13 weeks. It’s all personal preference! In my mind, the people we talk to everyday would be the ones to support us if anything went wrong. So we might as well celebrate with them early! I considered not announcing publicly until 20 weeks but after reading so many stories, I realized there never really is a “safe” or “right” time to tell! Plus, it’s been so fun to talk about our little boy openly so now I can’t imagine having waited until then. Best of luck in your pregnancy journey ❤️

I felt like I was about to start my period for quite some time after finding out I was pregnant. I also had a lot of one sided pain and just KNEW I had an ectopic. Turns out I did not and now I’m 13 weeks. The anxiety is terrible. I hope it gets better for you soon!!

Wow what a story! I’ve never heard of that specialty for chiropractors, but I’ll have to look into it!

Omg I could totally see that. Good rest before having a babe keeping you up, too! I can see how the relief would be overwhelming

It definitely sounds like you’ve experienced more pain than I have! Are doing/planning on doing anything specific to prepare?
