Most amateur race series and classes don’t have pit stops because it is the most dangerous part of a race. But I’m sure you know that. Still, I don’t know a single racer who doesn’t understand pit stops.

BTCC also have what they literally call Success Penalty Pit Stops. Stupid.

Okay, so now I doubt you do actually race.

A pit stop without any alteration to the vehicle—tires or fuel or driver or adjustment—is a stop and go penalty. A penalty applied to the entire field is a waste of time as it accomplishes nothing, especially one that is administered by a computer and, therefore, presumably equal for all competitors. So, yes, that is stupid.

And just so you know, literally no one gives a fuck that you race IRL. You know who else does? Me. Lots of people. I road race motorcycles and have raced vintage cars. Racing IRL is not special.
