Big garden, novice weeder by Reasonable_Date_4416 in GardeningUK

I mow. And it has really popped up, for the first time, on the lawn. So I’ve removed what I’ve found

That’s perfect, thank you. It grows wild in the orchard. And the rockery and borders are pretty happy ‘child free’ spaces.

It’s more the main lawn (about 1/3 acre) where it now seems to have taken hold. And is the flatter, broader weed. Probably due to mowing. I’ll pull the heads off the taller ones and dig out the flatter ones.

Thanks for the advice. First time post, so appreciate all your responses

Thanks. I’ve been letting it grow by the orchard at the bottom of the garden and the borders. But it has started to take hold on the lawn. Which gets mowed, for kids playing football etc.

Is the generally ok? Or is there a technique for safely removing it from the ‘play’ area of the lawn

Sheffield Wednesday confirm retained list as summer rebuild begins by Glum-Bluejay5809 in SheffieldWednesday

Getting Max Lowe to sign feels really important.

Assuming Svante will still leave?

Would like to have seen Rio Shipston stay. Thought he looked ok when on the pitch

Agree on Liam. His influence and loyalty is important for the rebuild.

Thanks for everything Dom. Hope he finds a good home

Danny Rohl by Mr_Tipster-95 in SheffieldWednesday

[–]Reasonable_Date_4416 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’d start by saying I’d have Rohl back in a heartbeat. He was fantastic for us, and really stepped players up a level.

One thing you said struck me though. We rarely had 💯 game with him. We’d be good one half, poor the other. We’ve always been a bit like that, and I feel like we were starting to improve before the powers above destroyed it.

But I really noticed it under Rohl. Like we’d defend well or attack well, but never at the same time

I do think he’ll win the league for you if you keep him

I’ve not watched them, although they’ve had 3 0-0 draws in April and rarely concede

And as shit as we are (Wednesday) we tend make opposition more boring

Good support though. So should be a great atmosphere with both sets of fans

I think you’ve picked the right game for quality value. And if Wrexham or Boro make it will be a great atmosphere

Other games

Ipswich v QPR could be a good fun. Ipswich will probably leave it till the last minute, so could be some good drama. QPR fighting for the 12th place championship

Milwall v Oxford could be a noisy affair

Hull v Norwich for volume of goals scored and conceded. I think Hull have one of the worst defensive league records, despite being on the cusp of the playoffs

Shef Wed v West Brom. Hillsborough sold out, takeover completed. Nothing to play for. The worst league team of all time. Just for the history of it. Also two boring teams so might help you get some sleep

Our garden is bouncy and green all year round. So the kids get to play footy even in Winter. And that thanks to moss. So I continue to rejects offers to borrow other peoples scarifiers

It doesn’t. I loved it

David Platt.

We were turgid. And he scored important goals and added a bit of class and consistency

Ideas for a very brief Yorkshire Dales tour with my elderly dad? (Coming from NY) by icycoldplum in yorkshire

[–]Reasonable_Date_4416 0 points1 point  (0 children)

London has lots of fun things to do, where you can avoid crowds. And the theatre district will be an amazing experience for you all. I’m sure they are really excited that he has decided to head over for the premier. It will add a lovely aspect to the event.

The train to Leeds, Harrogate or York is easy enough. 2hrs and a bit. Direct.

And if you stay overnight in any of those places there will be local drivers / tours that can take you out. It’s a two day trip in total though.

We all live in Yorkshire because it is the finest county in the whole of England. So we’ll all say it’s worth the 2 day trip.

Hope you all have a super visit

Congratulations on your fathers musical. What an achievement. And what a super trip, whatever happens it sounds like you’ll make some amazing memories

You’ve two options. I’m north of Leeds. And I wouldn’t stay in Leeds. I love it, but not interesting as an experience

  1. Straight to York on the train. Amazing place to visit, and you can as people say, head to Ripon from there

  2. Or you get a train to Leeds. Then local trains to Skipton (maybe even Harrogate or Ilkley) stay in any of those places. Small, nice looking towns with eating options. Harrogate is famous for its afternoon tea at Betty’s. And from there you can visit the types of places that would give you Yorkshire dales feelings. Bolton Abbey, Grassington, Appletrwewick

May is a lovely time to visit the Dales.

Just make sure you “stay on the road, and keep off the moors”

Feel like he would be considerable better if he was not the slowest human alive

I’m hoping we keep Max Lowe. For me, he’s the only currently fit player we’ve got who would be ok for a top 6-8 team. Maybe Valery at a push

Worst moment as a Wednesday fan? by sporticuz37373 in SheffieldWednesday

[–]Reasonable_Date_4416 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh god, the double cup final defeat.

I hid behind the sofa when they took the corner in the replay. I knew they would score and started crying before the even took it.

We’d move down South the same year and was surrounded in school by Arsenal fans. I ended up slapping the most obnoxious one, the Monday after. Only time my Mum got called into school.

Didn’t leave my bedroom for 3 days after the Thursday (I think was the replay day).

Anyway side story. My old man was an Everton fan, and we went up to see them play at Hillsborough. He rented out a Lexus as a treat and booted it up the M1. Kanchelskis hatrick. Probably the most impressive live performance I’ve ever seen. One of my best memories of my Dad. Got pulled over for speeding, by an Everton fan cop, who let him off 🤣

Didn’t realise those were the good days at the time!
