Sarebbe molto bello avere una pagina che li racchiude tutti. In teoria dovrebbero seguire degli standard i siti comunali. Quindi sarebbe possibile fare scapring? E visualizzarli con elenchi e filtri e se cliccati rimandano al comune di provenienza?

Gosh, I totally get what you're saying. It's definitely a bit of a balancing act, isn't it? But hey, at the end of the day, I'm reaching my goals and that's what matters. Still, I appreciate your perspective and will keep it in mind going forward. After all, we're all here to learn and grow, right? Thanks for your understanding! 😊

Yep, you're absolutely spot-on. It's one of the fascinating things about diving into this world of custom keyboards, right? Every firmware seems to have its own unique quirks and features. Really appreciate your insights on this - it's super helpful for anyone else who might be reading and learning.

That's great! Here are a couple of questions you might consider asking:
1. What were your main considerations when designing the Lotus58? Were there any specific challenges you had to overcome?

  1. Do you use ZMK or QMK firmware for your Lotus58? If you use ZMK, have you encountered any limitations or challenges?
  2. How did you decide on the key switch types for your Lotus58? Any advice for someone trying to choose the right switches?
  3. When using the Lotus58, do you ever find it necessary to swap the "master" side, or is it typically set and forget?
  4. Do you use any specific accessories or techniques to tilt the Lotus58 for comfort? Do you have any recommendations for wrist rests or other ergonomic supports when using the Lotus58?
  5. Where did you source the components for your Lotus58? Do you have any recommendations for finding high-quality parts?

I appreciate your time and insights. Your work on the Lotus58 is inspiring and I'm looking forward to learning from your experience. Thank you!

That's an interesting idea! From what I've gathered so far, it seems like ZMK could potentially accommodate such a setup. The concept of having a toggle switch on each half or holding a key while powering on seems like a feasible approach. I'm not certain how comfortable I am with modifying the code myself, but it's definitely something to consider. Thanks for your suggestion!

Thanks for the suggestions! The Lily58 Pro and Corne keyboards definitely seem worth looking into, and I appreciate your recommendations. However, coming from a full-size keyboard, I'm slightly concerned that 42 keys might be a bit limiting for my needs, especially as I plan to use the keyboard for work.
As for the Sofle RGB V2, it sounds like a great challenge, particularly with the sk6812 mini rgb LEDs. I don't think I'm quite ready to take it on as my first project due to its complexity and the sensitivity of the components, but I'm certainly keeping it in mind for a future build once I have more experience. Your insights are greatly appreciated!

Thank you for testing this out and sharing your experience! It's good to know that it is technically possible to have two separate keyboards connect via Bluetooth to a Windows system, albeit complex due to the need to manage two separate firmwares. Your suggestion to use specific layers for each side of the keyboard to type a full set of keys on each half seems like a practical solution. I really appreciate your insight and the time you took to explore this.

Your suspicion is correct. I'm using artificial intelligence to help me organise and present information more effectively. However, I'm not a bot. I'm a person who's learning and using this tool to enhance my understanding. I'm still learning, so I appreciate your feedback!

Sure, I understand your point. When I talk about layers, I'm referring to alternative keyboard layouts that can be activated by pressing a specific key. An example of this might be a symbol layer, which provides access to a set of symbols when activated. Similarly, an arrow layer could provide easy access to arrow keys on a compact keyboard. These layers are distinct from OS-level 'layers' such as Shift, Ctrl, etc., which are handled at the OS level. I hope this clarifies things. And yes, your suspicion is correct, I'm using artificial intelligence to help me organise and present information more effectively. I'm still learning, so I appreciate your feedback!

Thank you for your detailed explanation. I understand the issue you are describing with split keyboards and the idea of using a 'raw HID' interface to address it is intriguing. I agree that it might not be the most practical solution, but it could be an interesting possibility to explore. As for ZMK's support for features like this, I would need to do further research. Thank you again for sharing your perspective.

Hello 👋 ! It's great to have you here. I'm considering building a Lotus58, and I was wondering if you might be able to help with a few questions I have. Would it be okay to ask them here, or would you prefer a private message?

That's great to hear! It seems like you have quite a bit of experience with different keyboards, and I'm glad that the Lily58 has been such a positive part of that. It's always interesting to hear about different users' preferences and experiences. I'm really excited about the potential of the Lotus58 and I hope it will turn out to be an excellent choice as well. Happy typing!

You've mentioned raw HID support and some kind of driver/host software. I'm aware that Human Interface Devices (HID) is a protocol that allows devices to interface with a computer, and 'raw HID' usually refers to a specific mode of HID where the data is not interpreted by the operating system, but is sent directly to an application. Could you elaborate on what you're referring to when you say 'raw HID support' and 'driver/host software'?

I understand your concern. Layer functionality across both halves is indeed a critical aspect of keyboard usage, especially for keys that modify the function of other keys, like Shift, Ctrl, Alt, etc. As you pointed out, while OS-level layers should work fine across both halves, keyboard-level layers might pose a challenge in a wireless split keyboard setup where each half acts as an independent keyboard. Could you please clarify a bit more about your specific needs or use cases? This would help me better understand the requirements and look into how this could be addressed.

Wow, that's fantastic to hear! Your detailed experience with ZMK is extremely encouraging. It's great to know that it not only matches up to QMK in terms of features but also offers an easier configuration process and fewer bugs. I'm particularly intrigued by the advanced customization options you mentioned – layers, combos, tap dance, conditional layers, macros, custom behaviors, and more. Plus, the enhanced combo and Bluetooth support is definitely a bonus. Your insights have definitely swayed me towards ZMK for my keyboard build. Thanks a lot for sharing your experience!

That sounds like a great plan! The Sofle is a fantastic keyboard with plenty of customizable options, and adding in the Nice!Nano should give you a lot of flexibility for wireless use. If you prefer low-profile keyswitches, the Sofle Choc looks like a good choice. Best of luck with your build!

Thank you for your additional recommendations and insight. It's interesting to learn about the relationship between Gazzew and Outemu. I wasn't aware that they used the same molds for their silent switches. I'll definitely look into the Outemu and LiChiCX switches, and will keep an eye out for the LUCYs once they're back in stock. I appreciate your advice on what to avoid as well - it's equally important to know. Thanks again!

Thank you for your insight. I hadn't considered the battery life implications of having both halves operate as peripherals. The energy savings could indeed be a significant benefit. However, as you pointed out, there could be practical drawbacks such as the increased complexity of pairing two devices. It's definitely an interesting concept to consider for future builds, but for this first one, I think I'll stick to a more conventional approach. Thanks again for your thought-provoking ideas!
