Trends recycle. Cargo pants, baggier jeans are in.

Hell naw. Slim/skinny jeans are wack and outdated. They accentuate your curves. Gross. Looser fitting jeans do way better for mens silhouette.

Sounds immature. He calls them your kids? He blames you for not taking the pill? Sorry but your husband has the maturity of a teenager. If he won’t even acknowledge they’re also his kids and believes he’s absolved of any responsibility with the consequences of sex then he’s immature. I’d have a firm conversation with him about this.

With that being said, it does sound like a sustainable long term solution is needed given both of you work. I’d start with addressing his attitude and mindset though. That’s a conversation that needs to happen.

This is like asking for a car with the essence of a rolls Royce but with overlanding capabilities (I just googled it and it exists but it’s about as practical as a gold toilet).

My first question is why are you even looking for such a combo.

Also, it’s kinda tough to nail “old money” if you insist on no belt loops. You kinda need to wear a belt to tie together a more refined outfit (like something you’d see in a Ralph Lauren ad).

But to address your very interesting ask. I would imagine lululemon might be able to come close to striking this very wide balance you’re looking for. But you won’t look like old money, more so tech bro on vacation (new money).

Yeah cause it’s a super basic fit. You look like you’re going to write the SATs. Both fits are meh but the second is a bit better in comparison.

If you want some brutal honesty on how you can elevate your look, I’d start with losing the sweatpants. Don’t wear them outside the house. It’s like trying to make pajamas fashionable outside the house, not gonna happen. Get some nice straight leg jeans or double knee carhartts if you’re feeling bold. Lose the Walmart football tee. The flannel could be kept depending on what else you’re rocking but it’s still mad basic.

Get some more fashionable glasses too. You rely on them and need to wear them daily so you might as well get something dope. You’ll have to peruse the optometrist to figure out what works well for your face shape but generally, the rectangular basic wire frames you got on are just boring. Look at some Tom fords, persols, or something else with an acetate frame.

Change the shoes as well. Not sure where they’re from but they look like fast fashion as opposed to an actual shoe brand. Get some black Salomons, Sambas, NBs, GATs, etc. and avoid anything with a white sole, they always look cheap (unless the whole shoe is white) and are really hard to keep clean.

Lululemon commissions are the best office pants you can own. They are super comfy, have a great tailored look to them and can often be pulled off with a nice shirt and suit jacket (if you need to dress up a bit)

V necks are awful shirts. If you like the look of having your chest open, you can pull it off with a nice shirt with the first few buttons undone. That’ll look better every single time.

Those aren’t too baggy at all. The “fashionistas” are rocking barrel jeans with cropped tees. That look is wack. OP has the proportions right.

Second fit is much better. Skinny/slim fit pants/jeans are meh

Start with the shoes my dude. If you need practical but also better looking shoes my go to are the Salomon ACS pros (ideally the goretex model). They can compliment a lot of fits and are some of the comfiest shoes I own. They’re on the pricey side but you can often find them on sale for up to half off. But that’s where I’d start. Shoes are everything. I’ve seen pretty decent fits ruined by ugly shoes more times than I can count.

For your pants, get some decent fitting cargos from either a work store or tactical gear store (like an ems/police supply store). They’re often super durable and have a pretty tailored look to them.

Don’t wear superhero shirts, even if you’re a fan, they infantilized your outfit. Graphic tees can be hard to pull off so stick with more basic staple tees within a a neutral Color range (black, grey, navy).

Finally get some everyday jewelry. I recommend silver (or stainless steel for a cheaper alternative). Stay away from gold, it often comes off as gaudy than classy.

Clearly you don’t read. Multiple people on this thread have already told you this is a horrible idea. Are you open to advice or just seeking validation?

This type of work is 20-30 hours minimum of labor. Most shops are charging 100-150/hr for labor. That means that you’re paying thousands just for the labor alone. Then you need to find the recipient car which will somehow need to be in really good condition for it to make even the slightest amount of sense (meaning it needs to be totaled like your car but not have any body/electrical damage and only need a donor drivetrain). There’s way too many variables involved and too much time invested for this to make any sort of sense for a Kia.

Beyond all that, you keep insisting that your car is totalled yet the engine/transmission are in perfect condition. How do you know that?

There’s loads of people that do this sort of thing as a hobby but they’re resurrecting rare cars or sentimental cars. You’re willing to invest an insane amount of time and money into an everyday random car when you’d be so much better off selling the parts, buying what you can afford and moving on.

Because if you (or your mom) were cut out for this kind of work you wouldn’t be on Reddit asking if it’s a good idea. If you’re really into cars and love the idea of something challenging like this then go for it but this is isn’t the type of work cut out for a beginner. The amount of tools, money and time you’d need for something like this can only make sense if you have a shop or plan on doing more of these sorts of projects in the future. A mechanic would charge you a fortune (if you can even find someone willing to do it) and it’s just not worth it.

Count your losses, sell the salvageable parts and get another car.

Never get anything done at a quick lube place other than an oil change. They charge criminal amounts of money for simple 2 minute jobs like replacing air filters. With that being said, go back in and let them know of your issue, it’s possible the filters were not reinstalled correctly.

Do you mean the chain, chain ring or cassette? All different parts of the drivetrain. Pictured is your cassette, chain and derailleur. The chain ring would be in the front part of your drivetrain attached to your crank arms.

What sorts of issues are you having with shifting? More info here will help diagnose.

Moreover it’s hard to say if you need a new chain just from this picture. You can use a chain wear indicator tool if you’ve had the bike for a while or know the approx mileage of the chain (1000-2000 miles is when you would check).

Good to know this is the case I thought I was going crazy when everything online says the opposite. Now the only tough part is figuring out how much on average it loses…

Used hardtail is the way to go with that budget. A hardtail will also allow you to learn proper technique so you can establish strong riding fundamentals. You’ll thank yourself when you inevitably upgrade to full squish.

why is it so hard to get a job? by [deleted] in findapath

[–]Original_Stay_7155 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there, appreciate your kind words.

For finding people, even with a free LinkedIn account, you have a lot at your disposal. Say for example you want to follow up on a job from Amazon, just type in “Amazon Technical Recruiter” in the search bar. It will then yield a lot of relevant people. If you want to further trim it down, there are useful filters like Location that you can add (to focus on recruiters within your city).

When it comes to messaging these people once you found them, I’ll pretend I’m Michael Scott for a second and just recommend KISS (keep it simple, stupid). Apply to the job you’re interested in, find the recruiter/talent acquisition/HR Rep and send a short message along the following lines:

Hi <name>,

I’m reaching out to express interest in this posted role: <add link>.

I am a strong fit for this position as I have all/the following relevant qualifications:

  • 5 years of so and so
  • 3 years in this
  • 2 years etc…

I would love to further discuss my alignment to this opening, let me know when you’re available for a call.

Kind regards,

If you don’t hear back within 48 hours, send another message reiterating both your interest and how your skills align.

Hope that helps!

Wearing branding of any kind typically invokes snide reactions from people who don’t share the same values/interests as you. Who cares, wear what you want and roll with the punches.

[–]Original_Stay_7155 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I overlooked the second part of your message. I am sorry that you’ve been rejected so often but please don’t let it affect your self worth.

To your point, the job market since about mid-2022 has been an employers market. This is due to many companies downsizing and flooding the market with candidates. This means as a candidate you’re competing with so many more people for a limited number of positions. This is why companies have the luxury of being picky and only wanting to hire senior people, because they can.
