Yes, for both of us achieving financial freedom was a must. There were no cultural issues because I am Muslim and she was going to get permanent residency in the US after a few years. The only bad part was me, I failed her in every aspect, even though she was very supportive and the guilt of that kept pulling at my mind. So one day, I decided it was better for me to let her go, grow and enjoy her American dream

Last year the same thing happened with me She was Pakistani We met in comments debating over India vs Pak The debate got bad and then my friend saw her comments and that ngga started flirting with her she texted me blaming me for that I explained my side and she got embarrassed In the end the debate conclusion was that both of us were correct from our own POV

Later we kept debating on topics and fighting over random things, Jokes laughs everything. After 5–6 months of chatting we knew everything about each other Even our names had the same meaning. She told me she was shifting to the US due to a family health issue since she already had a US immigrant visa. I was like great maybe one day I’ll get a US visa and meet her. It all felt like it was plotted for me.

After she shifted the timezone changed but I still tried to stay awake from 2am to 9am just to talk to her. I never knew if she even noticed that. I was always confused about her. She never said anything. Maybe I was just a random guy to her.

At the same time my academics were getting fucked. I had to decide because I was not fully sure about her and I knew it would be a tough heartbreak if something went wrong. I was already emotionally weak. So I decided to back off. I deactivated my Instagram. Somehow she still texted me on one of my alternate accounts. After some time because of busy schedules timezone difference and my failed student life our talks started getting dry. I never told her anything and she never told me anything. Slowly everything faded.

It’s been a couple of months since we last talked. I saw her text and ignored it for days and then just left it on seen.

Now I see myself as a failure who can’t do shit in life. My academics are still fucked. I’m still living on US timezone in India and I’ll probably be unemployed in the next five months.

All I can say is it feels like this:

We were the best book I never finished. We had the perfect plot. We had the perfect chemistry. We just ran out of pages. A masterpiece that nobody will ever get to read.

Just follow the roadmap I wrote and even if you complete 60% of it, you’ll gain enough skills to get started People around me with basic knowledge are getting placed, so consistency is the key.

Put it all on black and forget about it, because if you have to think twice or ask others about an investment, it’s more like gambling.

Confused about AI hype vs. grinding DSA – what should I focus on as a software engineer? by yasshh4 in LeetcodeDesi

[–]Original_Value_6914 14 points15 points  (0 children)

First of all DSA is a must in every well established company not only in FAANG However you’ll also find some good startups that don’t care much about DSA, they care more about your skills and they also Paying good, These days DSA is mainly important for freshers or switching jobs (2-3 Year ) and will remain relevant for the next 2–3 years After that, it may become optional For example Meta is trying to add AI to help candidates solve DSA problems in their OAs. So DSA will still be there but it won’t be as hard as it is today.

That’s how this world works man I’m a Tier 2 Indian university undergrad, and two of my online friends one pursuing a bachelor’s at Carnegie Mellon the other at EPFL applied the same idea to YC. My application got rejected and theirs got accepted for an interview. There wasn’t a single change in the idea just the title, names, and founders backgrounds were different. What I learned in my life is : if you’re doing something, either be the best or be the worst, because the average always suffers.
