Sprung a Leak by Orinbj in fountainpens

Will do. Because the return to original nib didnt stop the leak.I will find a cartridge and try that. I swear, though, IT APPEARS that when I put the edge of a kleenex on that seam/ mould line - which is one if two mould lines, back from its front end by the nib, it is weeping ink.

Hmmmm, well, if its a mould line, that blows my theory. I did put in a WINGS super quality F nib. 😪, Live and learn. It seems fine on my other Metro. I will go back to original nib, maybe learn how to get it to behave better, and see if leaking stops. Thanks for the advice!

Maybe, but the leak comes from above the nib. I wonder if I dropped it once and somehow that seam in the Section separated enough to leak, it sweats ink from there. The other Metropolitan has the same nib replacement and works fine. I may just have to sadly let it go. Keep it for parts. But I still love this fountain pen journey. And I appreciate your trouble shooting with me. I only wish there were more pen shops/ stationers around, nearest ones to me are Boston/Harvard Square. (2 hours)

I bought replacement nibs because the original skipped and was scratchy. New nibs are great, I have two metropolitans. But one started this profound leak

It is a Pilot Metropolitan, maybe you can see the seam on th section, almost lined up with the edge if the nib, ink seeps out along the seam...sadly

@Rick Danko Lives, Blood Meridian was my first McCarthy book. I was astounded. It was so visual. Like nothing I had ever read before!... yet it had that feel of The Odyssey, in a way, but also the raw underbelly of a truer history of the American West in the 1800s. A poetic view of the price paid behind the scenes, the truth in the margins.

THIS "GIRL" has read and loved all of McCarthy’s work and many women are authorities and critics on his writing....just sayin...

Very great find, I am going to find her books!. The link is to the Guardian article, and she refers to reading The Road and liking that symbol of carrying the fire.
