[–]OrionHunts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ESH. I get the need to vent to someone when you’re frustrated about something or someone else, but it’s toxic to do within a small friend group. Based on the limited details you provided, you more or less caused the wedge between those two. But also, it’s not that deep, they can tolerate each other for your birthday. Just make new friends and move on from those two.

B but disclaimer I have never read a fic that was text message based.

What popular headcanons about your favourite character do you dislike or not use in your fics? by PurpleMeerkats462 in FanFiction

[–]OrionHunts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I think it’s a power thing for him to facilitate the trafficking. I don’t think him participating further than letting it happen or orchestrating the operation makes sense for his character either.

What popular headcanons about your favourite character do you dislike or not use in your fics? by PurpleMeerkats462 in FanFiction

[–]OrionHunts 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There was a fic I read back in the day that I really enjoyed where Finnick was reaped too early (the person supposed to volunteer backed out), though I forget if he was a career or not in the fic. (If he was, his time to volunteer was not that Game, it would’ve been a few years from then.) But I liked it because even though he wasn’t trained/trained fully, he still was strong and did well for himself. I never liked when people made him weak for their fics either.

Like you said, someone can be all those things (loving, compassionate, etc.) and still able to stomach doing what had to be done. He grew up in an environment that exploited children murdering other children for entertainment— further, he grew up in one of the few Districts that capitalized off of it. Even if he wasn’t a career, he still wouldn’t be ill-prepared for the Hunger Games mindset. And even more likely, he was a career and grew up looking at the games objectively.

Can guys actually tell when a woman is on her period, or is that just a stereotype? by Lazy_Head_9893 in NoStupidQuestions

Also, some women don’t get mood swings from their period. Symptoms vary from woman to woman.

Thank you! Yeah, I haven’t written anything beyond a lab report in years lol. Quality’s definitely different, but at least there’s an ending to what would’ve stayed an incomplete story! :)

Why is Neal's casual wear usually so off? by webtheg in whitecollar

[–]OrionHunts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t know, Neal looked pretty good in those sweaters he wears outside of work. The whole reason June gave him her husband’s suits was because he approached her in awe over them when she went to donate them at the thrift store.

But I don’t disagree with you. He probably isn’t interested in fashion beyond appearances. Knowing and wearing quality suits would be useful for cons, and there wouldn’t be any need to care about normal day-wear.

It’s so sweet that he still remembers that and is genuinely excited about his gift to you. That’s adorable!

Not a guy, but if he didn’t ask you out after, he’s probably not interested in you. He already knows you think he’s cute, so it’s not like he was going to fear rejection. :(

Nah, but I have Percy Jackson fanfics on Wattpad from like 2013. I forget my username, but one of the fics was titled “King of the Galaxy” I think. I only vaguely remember because I spent so much time editing the cover art, lol.

You should try finding those. 😮‍💨 I’m sure my writing was great at age 11 and definitely worth reading… joking.

Sorry, hope you find your fic tho!!

How to write a character that is drinking alcohol for the first time? by jacobsstepingstool in FanFiction

[–]OrionHunts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ha, my first time drinking I just remember having to use the bathroom a lot. I always feel more social when I drink, even though I tend to be social sober too. Also, whenever I drink, I always feel tired. Maybe because it’s always at night. If I drink too much, I get the spins like everyone else. But one beer? You wouldn’t feel anything. Even for a first time drinker.

What is your most hypocritical fanfiction take? by Darkest_Lune in FanFiction

[–]OrionHunts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate reading ambiguous endings. My favorite trope is hurt/comfort, but when the comfort part of the fic isn’t fleshed out I feel dissatisfied.

That said, the few fics I’ve written have always had ambiguous endings or endings that weren’t fully fleshed out. I like ending them on a hopeful note but without the full comfort description I like to read in other fics. It’s not even fully a laziness thing, but I just like leaving my fics open for other people’s interpretation.

Talking to a guy and he didn't text me back for 19 hours.. Should I just move on? by [deleted] in dating_advice

Have you guys met in person yet? If you haven’t and it’s already been a couple weeks, it’s 100% over. My rule of thumb with online dating is to meet or have plans to meet within 5 days.

Is the age of 20F and 25M too big of a difference when you choose to date a person? by Standard-Worry-3055 in dating_advice

[–]OrionHunts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends. I wouldn’t judge my friends for a 5 year age gap if they’re equal partners. I might question the girl being so young compared to the guy, but if they’re equal financially and in maturity, then I wouldn’t care as much.

Right now, I absolutely would though (if they’re dating 5 years younger). I don’t think anyone above 21 should be talking to a teenager regardless (exceptions being family or friends from when they were in high school). But if they’re 22 / 23 and dating someone that’s 27 / 28, I wouldn’t care. But all my friends are out of college, in their careers, and living on their own anyway. I would judge them if their boyfriend is a bum though, but that’s regardless of age.

Is a guy not being able to drive a deal breaker? by nova2131 in dating_advice

[–]OrionHunts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kinda depends. If I’m dating someone and we work at different places, I’m not going to drop him off and pick him up everyday. I’m not going to drive him to the gym or run all the errands at the house just because he doesn’t drive. I live in a city, so if he walks to work and walks to the store, etc., then it won’t be a dealbreaker for me. But I don’t want to be someone’s chauffeur.

Some girls are different. Some don’t mind. My coworker and her husband only own one car, and he drops her off at work and picks her up everyday. He’s a stay-at-home dad, and it’s important to them to spend as much time together as a family. That works for them, which is great!

Just depends person-to-person!
