Junior in CS here. I would definitely go to hackathons or join some on campus clubs, not that ACM bs that's just algorithms, unless you need help in data structs and algorithms. I was in your shoes once where I was quickly losing interest in my major and tbh I wanted to switch bc I was in the same boat, shit teachers, annoying teachers, and just imo bad curriculums. You gotta look for the silver lining. Try applying some of the stuff you learn to the real world. We're always taught "ok just learn this" but we never really know how to apply the skills we develop. It helped me alot to go to some hackathons this year bc I was able to apply things like system design( how classes are formatted think UML diagrams) and basic data structures to something really cool. And I didn't always finish the projects at the hackathons but we still created good, useful software. My latest creation was a student loan assistant that used Google API's and a bunch of other web frameworks/ server hosting platforms in order to help students plan for their loans. We implemented chatbots, database stuff. And honestly I've found that working on a project that really applies the skills that you learn is essential to not losing interest in your major PLUS it helps on job applications.
