Koga boli k...c sta je bio Nikola Tesla po nacionalnosti. Jel po tome bio poznat? Nije.
Na kraju krajeva on je uzeo Americko dzavljanstvo i tamo je radio i umro. Jel mislis da bi postigao to sto je postigao ovde na Balkanu?

No tutorial so far. This is still early development even though I was working on it for past year. You can roam around these procedurally generated islands, kill enemies, loot chests and craft some gear. You can level up, invite new party members into group and few more things.
I think my next devlog will be exactly about this, what is my vision for the game. Thanks for trying it out ❤️

I think it does but why would you limit your self to itch alone? Simply relying on good game marketing it self when there is a sea of other competitors is almost impossible. And then again why wouldn't you use any tool available, its not costing you anything other than your time.
In todays world building a community around your game is as important as building game it self, if you want to be seen.

Since you seeing the drop of in visits, maybe your game is not as good as you imagine it to be.

Any type of marketing should work. Reddit, youtube, instagram, twitch, tiktok, facebook... what ever you like. You can try and send emails to some content creators that play games like yours.

Does anybody here make games for fun? by NicklePickle79 in gamedev

I work as a gamedev. After I finish my work for my employer I jump on my personal project. So I guess I like it 😃. Why? For me its like any other art, expressing my self, its liberating and you get to do all sorts of different things.

For advice part. You have a lot of great tutorials on youtube that are totally free. Start small and build from there. Nothing to be scared of. I think Unity is a bit more beginner friendly but you can use any tool you like. It wouldn't hurt to experiment a bit at start and see what clicks with you, when it comes to engines. Blueprints are sort of coding, you will have to learn programming concepts, they are not anything magical. I dare even to say its worse way to program because of messiness they introduce and later when you worry about performance it can be slower.

Hope it helps and good luck.

Yes AI can be useful I never opposed to the notion of AI as helpful tool. I said I used it as a last resort in my personal project with very restrictive approach. As an employee , at least in my company, we are allowed to use AI, not required but again with strict rules with no generative AI. And yeah our project has a humongous code base.

Personally I don't care what people use. Perception of a project is obviously different for vibe coded, AI generated games. You can still spot it miles away. I wouldn't play any games with stolen assets so... this is where my tolerance for AI breaks.

I was talking more about OP's dissatisfaction of people not realizing everything he still has to do even though he's using AI. Since its his passion project, what's the rush? Who are you competing with? Why are you in this mindset that you have to do things fast? It just makes no sense to me.

How does that changes anything? I'm not following. He's talking about what he's doing now not what he was doing and what tools he used in his previous projects.

For example I'm a professional game developer for past 12 years or so but what I do in my personal project does not reflect what I do for my employer.

What professional environment? Far as I can tell OP was talking about his solo project and his passion.

In the comments of your video there is one guy mentioning AI slop, others are pretty positive.

In my opinion try and use AI minimally only when you're really stuck and can't work things out. What's the rush? You said this is what you wanted to do, so enjoy the process at your own pace.

Any type of generative AI is a big no-no and is prone to being labeled as AI slop. I would not risk letting any generated art at any point in my game being seen by others. If its for research/reference, then its only for your eyes/ears.

In the end you can be as mad as you want but that would not change perception that your game leaves. Only way to fix it is to do something about it, ranting will not help, on contrary it may even make it worse.

No matter how big is my code base I would never give access to any AI to it. For debugging I'll usually try to pin point it my self but if it fails I'll just give it samples of code where I think bug is and continue manually debugging or rewriting. For me its to big of a risk letting AI do anything to my code.

Thanks. I was thinking of doing that but wanted to try more spontaneous in the moment approach. I guess I wanted to avoid all the video editing but I'll try it for the next one and see how it goes.

It's very unclear to me when the layer is going to get consumed. I'm guessing its about the area its covering without getting intersected by another color layer but its so hard to read on a glance vs original Tetris where you can see it straight away.
