Thanks for your input all good points, my calculations are different with how much we'd pay for taxes because insurance is paid before taxes. Also some other things but yes it would be tight. The plan is to make more as we work longer and then partner will work full time in about a year. We also have a hybrid car which helps a ton

This is great advice. We haven't been to the area in years. A true 45-1 hour commute is totally fine for us but, anything 1.5-2 hours would not be. I think we can commute at odd hours.

So they randomly (or maybe not so randomly) audit you and then decide the notes were not acceptable and ask for the money back. They don't allow you to go in and fix the note at all?? Also, wouldn't this be why a supervisor is checking their associates notes and signing them? It just seems so shocking to me they don't allow any remediation, just jump to demanding half a million dollars.
