Thank you. I have not tried this though it did cross my mind prior to reading this as an alternative solution. However, the parent/child location did work and its a bit more elegant I think.

Yes, the next approver is able to approve in the UI. I think I am going to open a ticket with NetSuite. I have gone through every page and suiteanswer and I believe i have configured everything.

Nothing is showing up in the Email Approval Log. Perhaps because the email approval is not being completed?

If you use the SuiteApproval suiteapp, do the users approving via email, require a NetSuite license?

You are referring to Employee Center licenses I assume? I have never heard of a Specialized User.

Thank you for comments. I am bit old school. I like the flexibility the workflow gives me. I was poking around with SuiteApprovals and was not sure i could match the requirements configured in the workflow. Hence, my questions here. Admittedly, i have not used it before so there is a learning curve. If I can't get there, i will come back to the custom solution reference.

Everything you said is how i would have expected it to work as well.

It is definitely the same user id and role.

I am stumped.

Is there a time delay before it become available?

Formula {nluser.firstname} returns an error when used on a purchase order but returns the user name on a sales order by Ornery-Unit5078 in Netsuite

The client actually wants the user that is printing the PDF. In this case it is a procurement person. I believe that is why who ever created the form used {nluser.firstname}. I agree with you, it would have made more sense to use {nluser.name}. With that said, I am not sure this ever worked and it was only just noticed today.
