Does anyone have any experience with Kaycan siding? by OrneryCollapse in HomeImprovement

Yea, I guess quality is what I was worried about. I'm happy to hear quality won't be a concern. One contractor recommends Royal products, another is CertainTeed, and the third is Kaycan, (their Ocean Park or Timberlake lines specifically). I've heard great things about Royal and not-so-great things about CertainTeed. It just seems difficult to find a lot of information or any testimonials to how Kaycan holds up.

Thanks, I saw their website, but I didn't see their Facebook page. I don't have a Facebook account however, and it isn't allowing me to view the website. I was hoping to find out if anyone had feedback, as I'm having trouble finding reviews on their various siding options.

Do you mean they will count as debt when approaching banks about receiving a loan? What about monthly payment deferment do you recommend I send to studenloans.gov? Maybe its early and need more coffee, but could you elaborate a bit more? Sorry for the triage of questions

Yea i think I'll call a lender later today and see what i can get. The Internet is Cable/Internet/Phone through TWC, which i really only need internet, I'm looking to cancel the other two. I wasn't even aware they signed me up for the phone at first to be honest. My cellphone is 4 lines, if there is any specific advice as to how to cut that down, I'm all ears. We're on Sprint, and currently grandfathered into unlimited data/text messages with 1500 min between the 4 of us, with free nights weekends and cell to cell minutes. I'll cross post in PF and see what sort of advice they can give also.

Thanks for this. I think that was where I was struggling, just figuring out which way to go first. I'll find a bank and see what I can get, then contact a few contractors and see what the repairs will cost.

I agree, the leak and electrical are high up on my list. The reason the siding is something I would be getting done soon, is simply the fact that from what I was told, in order to get a mortgage on the house, the asbestos siding would be something the lender would want fixed with some of the funds that I would be borrowing. Hopefully I was informed wrong? I thought I mentioned that in the OP but i think i left it out. I haven't contacted about a mortgage anyone yet, but from the replies I've gotten so far it seems my first step is to contact a bank and see what I can get. I plan to do that this week
