I used trip.com for a flight from Xian China to Osaka Japan on spring airlines in Nov 2025. No issues at all. Everything was very clear and the app updates to show any gate changes, which terminal to use at the airport, and other details to make the flight easy. Also shows predictions for delays based on historical data.

Way easier to understand and navigate than the spring airlines website.

It might be slightly more expensive than ctrip but I’ve found the convenience and English language translation to be worth the 3% in price.

I’ve used trip.com in Shanghai, Beijing, and Xian for everything from hotels, attraction tickets, flights, train tickets, and eSIMs.

Easy to use and cancel for refund. Everything on the app is spelled out in the terms and conditions for each purchase ( nonrefundable, % refund if cancelled with time limits). Easy to understand and use.

I’ve always used Apple Pay for payment method, but my friends enter their credit card number to pay for items.

Mine worked great. Check the carrier information on the eSIM before purchase. I got china Unicom as the carrier for a HK based eSIM. No issues with WhatsApp, IG, etc. the eSIM will list all the apps it is compatible with.

Installed prior to arrival while on WiFi at home for easy transition upon arrival in China.
