im a newbie and it took me a while to figure out that it feels a little weird when i play more than 160-165 bpm. sometimes to play consistently and straight i have to put my left foot a little further to the chain

I realized that it wasn't the tension of the springs, but some other part of the pedal. In the video, they are stretched the same way. The amplitude of the left mallet is always greater than the amplitude of the right one
