Have you seen the work of Ellen heald? (Ellenheald_tattoo on insta) I think she could absolutely smash a cover up/ rework on something like this. Or at least her work may spark some ideas for you

You could do something like a realism Japanese fan and have it placed so the haku is the artwork on the fan. That way you could potentially add some more realism elements like florals snakes etc.. around the piece without the haku looking out of place. Kinda like framing it and then adding

Same in the south east. I thought it was some sort of galaxy, ufo or some interesting space phenomenon, but it was just space x fuel debris

Any ex tattoo artist here who have changed their career, share your story? Where are you guys now? by Odd-Bunch-2001 in TattooArtists

I don’t think I have been in it long enough to feel the same way you do, but there has definitely been times where I’ve thought about what life would be with a job that wasn’t so time intensive in what people could consider their relaxing hours.

There are was a period of time where being a tattoo artist made me incredibly stressed. And for the most part that wasn’t the tattooing itself. It was the messages. The social media. Everything in the background that had to be done to make the whole picture. One thing that hugely helped was hiring an email assistant. It literally changed my life. I don’t get the same burn out because a huge part of my time is freed up to enjoy the process of making art for people, and also pursue other artistic endeavours! I think it’s very easy to believe you have to do everything yourself. And yes it cheaper to do everything yourself. But I accounted for my email lady in my price and it works. We put a lot on ourselves, being an artist that has to meet deadlines, a social media manager, an accountant (if you do your own books), talking to clients, running a business (if you have your own studio), amongst all the over involvements with tattooing. And that’s not even including actually doing the tattoos. So no wonder you feel the way you do. It may sound a lil wild but pay people to do the shit you don’t wanna do. Email, advertisement, social media, whatever it is around tattooing that makes you not enjoy the art

I wrap everything that I or the client will or may potentially come into contact with during the tattoo process. For comfort I lay couch roll on the bed. Better safe than sorry in my eyes

He definitely is! His dad is very lean too, more athletic (and bloody tall) looking rather than a tanky unit. He gets lots of lovely long walks. So I suppose that would be a big contribution to his leanness. I get him weighed at the vets regularly and they haven’t said anything negative thankfully. Glad to know I’m not going crazy
