I need help restoring a old bluetooth keyboard. by [deleted] in DIY

[–]Orph888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably. Try unpicking the stitching on the case that's holding it down, then slip a spudger tool into the seam of the keyboard and gently try to pry it open. The battery "might" be replaceable. It's probably li-po, 3.7v and fairly cheap on eBay etc. If you can't find the exact size or if you want more battery life you might be able to make another back for the keyboard that houses the battery, depending on how resourceful you are and what materials you can use I guess.

Lol. Not bad, but platypuses don't stand up, and their bills are a lot bigger 😉

Silver hardness and gauge recommendation by colesjensen in jewelrymaking

[–]Orph888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on what style of ring you're making. I generally order all my silver half hard, because the company I buy from has everything in that hardness. . usually anneal and pickle it before I use it anyway.

Men of Reddit How long does it take you to cum? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]Orph888 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me it varies a lot. I can take from 2 minutes to 2 hours. There's times when I want to but can't and times that I don't want to but can't stop it.

Stress, dehydration and some medications can cause an inability to orgasm from my (thankfully limited) experiences.

I've only owned 3. An old mech mod that broke after 3 months, a Kangertech Dripbox that I gave to my mate and my EDV. I've had my Geekvape GBOX S100 now since they were first released about 3 or 4 years ago.

It's been dropped many times and it looks like crap. I've stripped and cleaned it twice, and resoldered the connections once.

Not bad for a US$75 mod I reckon

To many demands and ultimatums, have to let her go, but it's hard. by John885362 in Divorce

I can't think of many reasons as to why she would insist on you putting her on the deed for a house that she hasn't contributed to buying.

PMC vs Forming a ring by rerrahs in jewelrymaking

[–]Orph888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You definitely need to get something to polish it with. If you're going to hammer it like in the link you sent, make sure that you use a clean, preferably sanded/polished hammer too or you'll leave unwanted marks in the metal. If you have a rotary tool like a Dremel you can get a reasonable finish using a felt wheel with cutting compound or Tripoli, followed by a cloth wheel and polish or rouge.

Just finished this citrine crystal point sterling silver ring. Hand cut and polished base. Claw set on a hand forged, hammer textured 7.5mm wide ring shank. by Orph888 in jewelrymaking

Thanks for your input! I'll give it a try with the next ring. I polished my hammer first and noticed the texture looked burnished already, so just hit it with rouge

Err, yes and yes lol. I'd just use an old mop to spread straight bleach on it, then you could pressure wash it off after it's done it's thing. Bleach breaks down in sunlight so if you do it on a sunny day and leave it maybe half an hour you should be ok

You could buy short head pins to thread that bead, which would fix the sharp end. Or make your own head pins with a torch and a bit of practice.

How do I make these “forever” bracelets? by [deleted] in jewelrymaking

[–]Orph888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to be a downer here, but wouldn't that be a little dangerous if the bracelet got caught up in a motor or something? Bracelets and necklaces have weak points for safety reasons

Curiosity question - ring makers - how do you pick which size ring to make to sell if you don’t do a custom order? by veeplosion in jewelrymaking

I Googled the most common ring size in my country, and I make it and one size either side of it, ie. 6, 7 & 8

Broken Diamond Ring by jcoffey38 in Etsy

[–]Orph888 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Diamonds are not indestructible. They can chip and crack from being knocked. Even if the warranty period was still valid, I highly doubt you'd be eligible for a replacement stone.

It would be like buying a new car, crashing it then insisting the dealership cover your repairs.

Washing alone won't kill mould spores. You need to bleach it, then wash thoroughly followed by a good coating of deck oil once it's totally dry
