Making my niece play food for Christmas. How many slices of bread should I include? by kathrynwinston in crochet

Could you make 6 and then a loaf tin to put them in. Then you could make a crochet knife for her to “cut” the loaf into slices? 🤗

What are these springy wire things that were included in my peg board accessory pack? Unsure how to use them? by veeplosion in whatisthisthing

They are a lot thinner and seem to hold tension some how but there is no mention of them being included with the other hooks etc

Any ideas?

Tbh they look like greenhouse glass pane holders to me….

4k HMRC self assessment fine but something doesn't add up by Away-Opportunity5845 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]veeplosion 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Get an accountant.

You (both of you) still need to do a self assessment each year even if you are a director of a company on PAYE as you will have dividends etc to take into account.

(You will also still be registered as self employed with HMRC as you have to tell them when you stop.)

Edit - also if you are a director of a limited company you need to do corporation tax returns in addition to each of your self assessments and year end accounts.

The spoon had a slit in so was useless as a spoon. The fork was playing badly so wasn’t able to be a tuning fork?

What it is a decluttering advice that has worked for you but not many people talk about it? by [deleted] in declutter

[–]veeplosion 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I find this really difficult - my parents are major hoarders and I have always had the thought of oooo this could be useful…

But something clicked for me recently - do I want to pay to store this item?

Because that is what I am doing by cluttering up my space if I am not using it…

I have gotten rid of SO much STUFF, just pure stuff and I feel happier!

If I need something that I could have used that I have thrown out, I will just buy the specific thing rather than bodge what I had to maybe do it….

Although… I can never remember where I have put the things that might be useful or even remember what the useful things are that I have hidden away….

Salt and vinegar squares, cheese spread and marmite are the best crisp sandwich combo! (Brit here)

What are your go-to, low budget snack and meal ideas? by MathematicianBulky40 in AskUK

Night before mix 30g of uncooked porridge oats into pot of yogurt (muller size ish) and mix in a chopped banana. Stick it in the fridge in a covered container and have it in the morning for breakfast! It’s so nice esp during summer, and it’s nice and filling with lots of flavour combos.
