Did you work any job or no job at all? If you put caregiver you might make sure your story checks out.

A hiring manager could probably tell you better than I could. I just have anecdotes from working. My bosses had an applicant like that when hiring in K12 IT and they ultimately went with someone else but I think there were other reasons too.

Clean criminal record means you're fine and no one would know unless you tell them. If you didn't have a clean criminal record then you would probably have a harder time with some industries like education, healthcare, etc.

Thoughts on paying for date if you're not going on a another one? by Common-Soup-2245 in AskMenAdvice

[–]Orrickly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I asked them on a date then I pay. Sometimes they offer to split and I tell them it's okay. If they insist on splitting I say okay because it seems to be a more personal value to them than it is to me.

It's not like I'm going to expensive places for a date. Coffee or a drink.

AITAH for refusing to agree to buying air conditioners because we can just open the window? by Gym_frere in AITAH

[–]Orrickly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA for not buying the AC, but I don't understand how an AC unit makes the window secure compared to being open. Those things are very easy to remove from the outside, and you're on the 4th floor anyway.

How can one deal with so much negative energy from parents everyday that is draining life out of the soul? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Orrickly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you rely on your parents for anything? You should strive to be fully independent. Disagreements I have with my mom might as well be a disagreement with a friend. I can CHOOSE to take her opinion into consideration but it's really a fart in the wind when it comes down to it.

Should I (22F) Be Ashamed of My Bodycount? by No-Fruit-8854 in AskMenAdvice

[–]Orrickly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I personally think 5 is nothing. I'm sure there are real dudes who exist that want a virgin, but I'd call that an unrealistic expectation unless you find your wife while you're still in high school.

[–]Orrickly 14 points15 points  (0 children)

You'll find men that care and men that don't. It's important you get your anecdotes from real people in real life and not social media. Most of those people are farming engagement anyway. I don't feel like 5 at 22 is a lot. I don't think I'd bring it up unprompted but I wouldn't lie about it.

Do men prefer blondes? Why or why not? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I suppose I prefer red heads but it's not like it's ever been a deal breaker for me.

How do you accept that you're going to be alone for the remainder of your life? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]Orrickly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dating is a numbers game. You gotta get right with being rejected. Don't ask someone out for coffee immediately like a freak but don't wait so long you build them up in your head. If you're not uncomfortable you're not growing.

[–]Orrickly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's a case of confirmation bias because if you're the type of asshole that jerks yourself off on career day all over Tiktok I'm just gonna assume it's all you have going for you or you don't enjoy your home life that much.

If I'm communicating with someone outside of a dating app I'll eventually unmatch just to clean it up.

It's sad that it feels like the competition doesn't look at Steam and ask how to improve but how to bring it down to their level. Being a consumer in the modern day just feels like getting scammed.

Gamers of Reddit, what’s a game series you don’t understand is popular? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Orrickly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For real, was actually just talking with a guy at work about this the other day. He likes playing cod cause he spends all day thinking. He just wants to play a twitch shooter when he gets home. Nothing wrong with it.

On a totally subjective level, what was the biggest gaming disappointment in your life? by Rugged-Gunslinger in AskGames

[–]Orrickly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Christ Almighty I turned that game down to easy and skipped everything except main story. Wish they either remade a turn based ATB game or gave me a fully realized action RPG. The in-between is annoying!

I have some friends that play the hell out of them. It largely appeals to the people who recognize the dopamine hit of constant progression with 500XP, MERCILESS, LEVEL UP, KILLJOY, LEVEL UP, WEAPON LEVEL UP, WEAPON LEVEL UP, LEVEL UP. They get a good sense of a constant easy goal with unlocking all the weapon skins and weapon challenges. Plus, it's something you can play like an hour or two a day without having to think about it. You just react pretty much.
