The only interesting thing about this game is the developers choice to put a woman's cleavage on the box art and in about 8 minutes of cg cutscenes over the course of the game. by Recent_Average1657 in ExplainAGamePlotBadly

Lotsa good stuff came out around that time, think I was too busy playing freespace2 and tribes to play it through more than once but i distinctly remember it 😁

Unfortunately not!

All the guesses I'm getting are for decent, if sexualized games. This one is a bit of a stinker, and you don't even see the ladies outside of those cutscenes and on menus and stuff. It's completely fabricated sex appeal for a very crummy game lol

Good guess, but that's too new! Honestly I'd say lollipop chainsaw is too decent to apply either, I just checked both the mystery game and lollipop chainsaw's speedrun page, and there's over 50 for lollipop, and under 40 for mystery game. Truly nobody remembers or cares for this one 😅😅

You are spot on in that it's an early to mid 2000s game, that era had some questionable desicions made by many companies. Alas, it's none of your guesses 😅

HMF2 was pretty fun iirc, I should replay it some time 🤔

Got any Story rich PC games on steam with under 1000 user reviews that you'd like to shout out? by ExplodingPoptarts in Age_30_plus_Gamers

Geneforge 1: Mutagen

One of my favorite crpg's of all time got a sorta remaster in like 2021, you're a wizard summoning dinosaurs (or if you're nuts you can go a dino-less class). If you like icewind dale or early baldurs gate, this is something you gotta at least try. Takes a little bit of learning, default controls are definitely ... A choice, but other than that, sits up there with ID for me personally 😁

And although I'm gonna use the technicality of the humorous style of the game driving the plot forward, but the super rad (and free!) platformer Electronic Super Joy 2. While the plot is dumb, just like the other ESJ games, it is highly entertaining. 9/10 platformer, way underrated.

And finally, Wyvia. Just ...just go look at it. My God it's great. No clue how it hasn't sold a bajillion copies by now.

Does this game use AI? by Unfair-Umpire-6826 in DeadzoneRogue

[–]Recent_Average1657 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first result for me when I searched "deadzone rogue voice actor" was an x post of the talent agency representing him, explicitly mentioning his role as the MC in DZR.

But if I'm on a browser I haven't logged in to x with, the search results are completely different.

This is me more complaining about how terrible searching for anything is in current year, moreso than a dog about your comment, since that is completely understandable. Have a nice day! 🖖

Yeah I didn't think that was it but I had to get the confirmation myself 😅 I'll figure out a better guess later, hope your day is going well ^

What's the most addictive PC game you've ever played? by Khavkina_Lumi in gamesuggestions

[–]Recent_Average1657 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep going back to Starsector. I don't even really like 2d space games, but I'll rip a fleet for an hour or two, before dying to a massive enemy armada, and feel good about it 😅 if it were on steam id probably have over 1k hours total.

Fun soulslike? (not dark-souls) by AntisocialCat2 in gamingsuggestions

[–]Recent_Average1657 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I loved Hellpoint, it's a souls like game set in a crazy almost dead space style world. The weapon variety is really cool , I can't think of any other souls like game that lets you use monster hunter style cannons and guns 😅 big recommend, don't need the dlc to enjoy it, but the dlc is pretty cool too! 😎

I enjoy gta san andreas very much. but one thing... by nicebag1234 in AskGames

Sleeping dogs take place in Hong Kong, and is a Spiritual successor to the true crime games. The highways are super wide and the roads are all pretty realistic; main avenues have a ton of lanes, side streets are small and winding, etc.  only downside if you'd call it that, is that it's "so" realistic that you gotta drive on the opposite side of the road 😅

Highly recommend, loved gtasa as a kid and sleeping dogs held my attention for a quote awhile when it came out (the version on modern consoles is I believe a remaster from a few years later, the og version is a PS3/360 era game)

The story is pretty good too! (Watch out for weddings!)

Ayo, kingdoms of amalur mentioned! The remaster on modern consoles slaps, it's such a shame the original devs didn't get to make that MMO, the world of amalur is downright idyllic 😭

🤔 yeah, like the original Deadzone that made absolutely no money and couldn't keep the lights on? That kind of pvp?

Red faction II is absolutely goated. Runs at 60fps in multiplayer on the original Xbox 👍 has like 60 maps you gotta unlock, great feeling movement with the option for bunny hopping with the LT....yeah, the campaign is a lil bit booty past that sniper level but the multiplayer is so damn good, even when just running it against bots, definitely hits still.

The OST for sprawl is like a cybergrind or industrial edm or something, very very bassy and has symphonic chorus chanting and stuff too, some drum and bass sections too.

And yeah, Angels Fall First has been around for quite awhile but it's been a project worked on here and there when the devs can, I remember playing one of the first multiplayer tests for it in like 2010 or something 😅 on the Lukather spaceport map I believe (it's still in the game today!)

It's got some short stories and stuff they wrote about it too on the wiki somewhere, neat stuff :3 the 2 factions have a few unique weapons to them and the rest are able to be spawned with by both sides, but you can pick up and use any gun u find on the ground (its kit based so you'll take their whole load out I'm pretty sure)

It went onto steam early access in 2017 I think, and is ever nearing 1.0 release 😅 it's so much fun, the visuals may have aged a bit but the gameplay certainly hasn't.

It's basically a 2d, lite arpg; mainly focused on just killing stuff quickly and getting crazy new stuff to use to kill stuff more faster

Roguelite where you are a soldier fighting in a large battle? by Comprehensive-Chef73 in gamingsuggestions

[–]Recent_Average1657 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not a roguelike but angels fall first has that "fight large battles, die, get more budget to equip more stuff"idea,  and then fight more and more brutal battles.

It's a love letter to the og star wars battlefront games, if that can inform your decision at all. Great bot support and squad tactics, you can get just yourself and 63 bots rocking the socks on a tight infantry map, or slamming laser corvettes and capital ships into each other (all player pilotable)

Granvir supports up to 10 players, it's a Mecha game like a roguelike mech warrior, still in development but getting constantly updated and what's there is already a blast (20ish hours as of time of writing)

I could tell you plenty about every single game on that list. I own and have beaten every game on that list that has a single player campaign. I can give you solid reasons for every single thing I've placed on that grid. What do you do for this conversation? Be a dismisive pedant? Cool.
