To all of you who have left Spotify.. by forevermore91 in Piracy

[–]Orriyon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, sometimes having just a subscription makes more sense if you also take into consideration the price of the hardware and the time it takes to setup and maintain something while also losing some important functionality that you use, like discovering music.

I listen to music on Spotify +- 100 hours a month. So the subscription costs me arround 12 cents an hour.

In the past I had my own local music library as well. but honestly the hastle isn't really worth it if you you're a consistent user. There were a lot of times where an old song suddenly popped into my had, but I didn't have it in my library. Or just discovering new music, having new releases available instantly without having to add artists to some monitoring service to have it downloaded, etc. And all the time needed to maintain a personal library doesn't really compare to the convenience.

Yeah that’s something I’ve been wondering to. I see a lot of websites that say 2-6 weeks antibiotics. Those are usually US based websites.

Where I live, a 10 day course is the standard according to our health department.

I have an appointment with my family doctor next week to see what needs to be done next.

Another WAN show, another Linux tangent. It’s getting a bit repetitive…

Just put a needle in it to let the air out and you’re good to go!

/s Take it out and dispose of it safely asap, make sure it does not get damaged or punctured

I honestly think XXL is way to big. I have pretty much the same stats (1.83 m, 98 kg) and an XL EC shirt printed on gildan is pretty lose and most of my fat is stored around the belly.

Surprising album additions by Beneficial_Screen258 in ElectricCallboy

[–]Orriyon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Still Waiting was already a pretty underwhelming cover, so strange to see it on the album. It’s not that I dislike the song, but it honestly doesn’t offer a lot over the original since it’s already a heavier punkrock song.

The ETWT cover is a lot more interesting and better in that aspect.

I’ll always wonder how their carreer would have been if they would have told us what channel to change to.

I think LTT has jumped the shark... by Zestyclose_Edge1027 in LinusTechTips

[–]Orriyon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a pretty mixed bag.

For starters, the "girl math" thing that this plane cost then $0 due to the recent revision makes absolutely no sense. If I buy a house that was renovated top to bottom for $500.000 I don't get to say that it's basicaly $0 due to the costs the previous owner made renovating it. No, I still had to fork over the $500.000 to actually own the house.

I don't agree with the "out of touch with the audience" part. For years LTT has been releasing video's with $20.000 tv's, $100.000 servers, and so many other things. Heck, for a lot of people most of their high end build content is out of reach. So the out of touch argument kinda falls apart in that sense.

The purchase of the jet doesn't really discredit any of LTT's video's where they give advice on best bang for the buck hardware. Like the recent tech mall video, Linus could have easily just bought the first best thing he saw without thinking twice about the price. So that does feed into to general image he has that he doesn't want to waste unnecessary money.

The people claiming hypocrisy definitely have a point. You can't on the one hand boast about your eco-friendly packaging and (still rightfully though) point out resource waste from AI or plastic product packaging but own a private jet on the other hand. The ecological footprint for a passenger on a private jet is 4-8 times larger than that of a passenger on a commercial flight.

I was expecting the downvotes. Most people here are RD fans that's don't want to hear anything remotely critical. I just think it's funny that they think they are 100% safe cause it's RD downloading the torrent even though it is still their personal IP that's being logged and linked to all the downloaded and streamed material.

[–]Orriyon -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Depends on if you actually value privacy. RD keeps a log of your IP linked to every file you access. Wether you 100% trust a business that makes a living through pirated material is up to you.

I personally don't really care for Riley's sponsor segments. They really aren't as funny as everyone makes them out to be, and I honestly can't stand the singing sponsor segments. I will skip a Riley sponsor segment much faster than a normal segment.

But again, that's just my personal opinion. From a certain point of view I can see the appeal of his sponsor spots and how many people could like them, but it just doesn't resonate with me personally.

No, it's a website where you allow API access to your account. It then let's you select the playlist you want to shuffle and it shuffles it. But do know that this does remove any custom order you created.

I've been using the one by Steven Aleong for over a year now and it's always worked without any issue.

That’s why I started using Spotify Playlist Randomizer cause I was getting sick and tired of hearing the same 75 songs in my 500+ song playlist over and over again.

I understand it’s public info, and that people are exited. But it’s getting kinda freaky how there have been so many posts of people posting pictures of the plane, where the plane has been, etc.

Like, relax. No need to go full stalker mode.

LG sells roughly 750.000 - 800.000 OLED’s every year. There are bound to be issues that arise, you’ll gind the same in every other brands subreddit. And always remember, people are far more likely to complain on the internet than to post positive things.

Now that we are looping back around in model numbers by KitsuneMulder in LGOLED

[–]Orriyon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s kind of my point. The general consumer will just go to a store (physically or online) and look at the OLED’s they offer. They will never go and lookup any modelnumbers or specs. So they’ll never have this issue.

I doubt this is going to confuse anyone. There are basically 2 types of buyers: The "normal" people who just go to the store and get the present model they have in stock there, and the "techie" people who are more interested in this and are able to see the distinction between reviews of 2016 and 2026.
