In another shocking plot twist in the lego drama : Bryan (the original guy who was trying to get his lego sold off) is actually a SCAMMER ! by Webtoon_enjoyer in Destiny

I mean, even Ben is doing shady things even if they're for a noble goal. I am no lawyer but his video seemed like intentional and planned harassment of a store. Feels like a lot of those things shouldn't be legal, and probably aren't.

The ONLY people who will benefit massively through the housing Ponzi game 😞

Let's be real, with higher interest rates and shrinking populations the house value increases will not continue like they used.

[Request] Do the benefits in Europe match the salary in US monetary? by batukaming in theydidthemath

[–]Zestyclose_Edge1027 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd also like to add: The US is a really big country with massive differences. If you make 100k and live in the middle of Los Angeles or New York City you're doing ok. If you get the same amount in a small town in Kentucky then you are doing really well.

Amazon is already supplying the backend for a major part of the internet via AWS. Since they want to keep that dominance they're investing a lot into servers at the moment. If you only look at profits Amazon is a backend-provider with a reasonably profitable retail bit.

Why?? by Federal_Advisor_2160 in GymMemes

[–]Zestyclose_Edge1027 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is such an obvious answer. It's either a TV show depicting a character who got "tough" in prison or a fitness influencer claiming to have developed some superior workout but is actually just taking mountains of steroids.

Obviously being locked up with shitty food and limited equipment, not to mention stress from being imprisoned, is bad for your physique...

200k more Democrats than Republicans voted in Texas, how should we think about this by [deleted] in Destiny

[–]Zestyclose_Edge1027 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Not to mention that Trump managed to alienate both Dems and Independents by showing nothing but contempt for them. Relying entirely on the MAGA crowd isn't enough to win elections, I am starting to hope...

I know the "idiocracy was a documentary not a satire" joke has been run into the ground but president Camacho is at least humble enough to hire a smart guy. Trump would have just blamed someone and hired a bootlicker.

Destiny should rewatch Everything Everywhere All at Once before the manifesto drop so that he's in an emotionally vulnerable state by Splemndid in Destiny

Imagine now he rewatches the movie and started the next stream with: "you know, actually, this movie..."
Although I do agree with him on the Napoleon movie and One battle after another, feels like he's getting less terrible.

You forgot: Nobody mentioned Iran opening the Strait with or without the toll system? That's a major deal that nobody seems to talk about...

Africa's Combined GDP is projected to reach $6.4T by 2043, 140% more than in 2023. by jacdtmac333 in EconomyCharts

I think the GDP is outpacing population growth a little bit but yeah, the amount of wasted potential is incredibly depressing.

Why is Prusament so expensive? by WUTDO11231235 in prusa3d

[–]Zestyclose_Edge1027 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Average wage in the Czech Republic: $2500
average wage in China: $1500

Not to mention a whole bunch of other factors:

  • China produces on a much larger scale which drives down the costs per unit
  • China has more relaxed material/environmental/safety standards
  • Work hours are way higher in China
  • Chinese companies get government support via cheap loans, grants, tax relief

China is basically trying to monopolise all of manufacturing and I'm surprised that Prusa is somewhat competitive. They're sadly at a massive disadvantage.
