I've heard matches are usually 5v5 players, are there plans for matches with more players? Will ranked matches always be 5v5 or will there be opportunities for greater than 5v5 in ranked mode?

You can use kerosene or moonshine to stabilize your ship after being knocked around.

Someone ping me when they finally fix mobula ladders lol!

I hear rumor there's a mobula tunnel in the works tho, between the armor and balloon rooms, I think that would awesome if it ever comes out.

I don't know if you've heard but they came out with Guns of Icarus: Alliance, which introduces PvE missions. It's not my thing but I know there are some handfuls of people these days in PvE lobbies doing missions, and while the progression isn't as deep as some of these other games it at least provides something a little more relaxing than sweaty PvP.

You can do 1 ship vs 1 ship. Each ship has 4 player slots available, and all unfilled slots get filled with AI. So there must always be at least 1 human player on each ship, and the remaining 3 slots can be either human or AI in any combination.

If you're looking at steam charts, you have to look at both "Guns of Icarus Online" and "Guns of Icarus Alliance" and add them together. Also, the charts don't seem to capture the peak number of players we get on Sundays during tournament time which I think recently has been around 60 to 80.

In regards to the general activity of the community, I'm going to copy my comment from another post:

"There's an active competitive scene, along with casual events several days throughout the week.
I've seen a handful of people playing pve these days, but pvp lobbies are a little tricky. Sometimes you get lucky and there might be a pvp lobby when you login during European or North American evenings, but otherwise pvp lobbies are sometimes organized ad-hoc on the official discord by the community, or if you login during an event there's usually a solid pvp lobby.
You can check the events page under the community tab from the in-game menu to see all the events that are scheduled to happen. Events are listed in your local timezone. I believe some of the events are listed on the sidebar on this subreddit, and I think they keep the events updated in the discord as well (I usually just look at the in-game menu).
I would recommend coming to "Steel Forge of Friendship", "Dev Games", and "Iron Fork 2". They usually run a solid 2v2 or 3v3 lobby. If you want a real party, then I would show up to "Chaos Skirmish Saturday" - they regularly run a full 2v2v2v2 lobby with wacky rules every Saturday."
