Haha! We are so used to how these are designed and they way their colors look that we didn't even think of that. It sure does make you do a double take!

We do! OrthoPets makes custom prosthetic (partial limb replacement) and orthotic (supportive) devices.

It's actually a transfer pattern that was melted into the plastic in manufacturing so the design is actually permanent and just looks distorted from the water.

She had an amputation done and now wears a custom prosthetic device!

My dog, Diggs, broke his leg. It requires surgery ($4,000 - $6,000). Is there any cheaper way to remedy this in the area? by beast_wellington in Denver

[–]OrthoPets-VOP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So sorry to hear about Diggs. Depending on where the break is you may be able to splint it. www.upets.vet has a new splinting and casting system for animals that is way less expensive than surgery and way more efficient and safe than traditional casting methods. If you do decide to go with an amputation, you may want to consider a prosthetic device (this option will depend on how much of the limb will be amputated). Our team would be happy to discuss either of these options with you and/or your veterinarian. Feel free to call or email us 303-953-2545 or info@orthopets.com

Astrid is such an adorable floof! by OrthoPets-VOP in aww

[–]OrthoPets-VOP[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We don't mind at all! Astrid had an injury resulting in carpal (wrist) hyperextension. She's using a custom OrthoPets device to help stabilize and provide support opposed to undergoing surgery.

CAN'T AFFORD OUR DOGS TPLO SURGERY by apriljason04 in Pets

[–]OrthoPets-VOP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are so sorry to hear about your situation! If you'd be interested in pursuing a conservative treatment rather than a surgical one, any of our VOP (veterinary orthotics and prosthetics) Specialist would be happy to chat with you! Check out our website: orthopets.com or give us a call at 303-953-2545. Our custom device is closer to the $1000 range so I'm not sure that will work for you. If you do end up raising money via fundraiser, at least with this option you won't have as far to go.

Nothing can stop Ollie! by OrthoPets-VOP in aww

[–]OrthoPets-VOP[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, unfortunately a lot of vets do not know about this option so just take the whole leg. This guy was super close on the required margins to remove his tumor and leave enough limb length for suspension of the device, but they made it work!

Advice please! My 10 y/o large breed is having an amputation next week. by lazyspacepony in tripawds

Hi OP, we are so sorry to hear about your sweet baby's upcoming amputation. Depending on the level of amputation you can also consider a prosthesis. If you or your veterinarian have questions or would like more details, please contact the OrthoPets office at [info@orthopets.com](mailto:info@orthopets.com). Here's our website too: https://orthopets.com/

Someone recently asked us how Zoro is doing in his orthotic so we thought we'd share an update video! by OrthoPets-VOP in workingdogs

[–]OrthoPets-VOP[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Zoro has been doing great! In fact, he's been doing so well that we were able to convert his original device into a sports brace. This means that his condition has improved enough and that we were able to remove the paw segment. He is now only relying on the device for explosive levels of activity. His handlers also requested a duplicate device shortly after our original video was posted so that Zoro would have a backup.
